RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I just went by my local Wendys. They have HOS coupons there.
You can either get $20 off your ticket online w/ promo code BGWwendysHOS or get $10 off your ticket at the gate with the coupon.

Be sure to check your local Wendys!

you know, if the park stopped these ridiculous deals, fall fun cards, preschool passes, all these frigging coupons, the event would be a lot better and attendance wouldn't change, no one goes to the park just because they found a coupon for it at wendy's

Discount and coupons drive sales. More on an incentive for repeat visitors and in park sales where the money is actually made. YES, they do help.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Anyone know more about open casket? Are they building a bar for mixed drinks? I'm guessing they are going to build some sort or stand around it? People aren't going to be walking up onto that platform, right?

Also looks like there is a photo op at festhaus and one for nurses between eita and grogan's grill.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Are someone draw a drawing of how this bar at Festhaus will be designed and used? I don't understand, so people walk into the circle?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Jordan, have you looked at Zach's post on the main page? It gives a good idea of the setup, but I don't think anyone knows exactly how service/the bar itself will work.

Hey Zachary, I just wanted to give you a little heads up that you listed Open CASKet as being in Ireland. Just saying :)

Fixed. Thanks for catching it!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

My response to your update Zach, no hard feelings just my thoughts.

With 13, they should just have a permanent fence there all year round. It would probably be cheaper and easier to deal with. I was walking through Scotland and noticed a guest was asking a Team Member for EiTA and was very upset to find out it was closed. I myself am a little upset but knowing that it is for an amazing haunted house, I got over it quickly.

I am thinking RoAE is going to be interesting seeing an exit/entrance. This is what gets me confused, Rhinefeld = Lady of the Gardens, Oktoberfest = Vampires. Seeing the red curtains and decor in Rhinefeld makes me think they are going to combine the two areas and just theme Germany all together as Vampires with some related theme to the maze by its entrance/exit. Also, I believe the Entrance/Exit may be located by the smoking section by the Festhaus. They have a temporary wall set up there blocking the smoking area and lockers for employees so I assume guests will be getting pretty close here. Do you have any better description for what is going on with all that?

Bitten's tunnel is new for 2012. Thank goodness, at least we get some change up even if its just a small extension. It looks mostly made up of military netting? Perhaps leftovers from Hunted. I am interested to see how this house is going to look this year and if it really is time to trash it like they probably should have what 4 seasons ago?

I prefer Polar Pathway over Scotland's floating pumpkins. I only choose this because the lights for Polar Pathway really do look nice, the theme in that area not so much. Scotland's floating pumpkins remind me of Tarzan with random pumpkins in the air. I guess the vines mixed with the surrounding trees are getting to me, I don't know.

I do enjoy Abbeystone's tree, I think it is really neat how they change the leaves to match the season. As for the lighting, those streets lights aren't very bright at night, they look like their about to die out. However, the general lighting design for the area does look pretty neat.

I am excited for Fiends to get the upgrade to Abbeystone. This is the one theater that is actually a theater primarily, minus RPT. It also usually has the best well done shows because more thought goes into it rather than a dinner show where they expect you not to pay attention. So hopefully we will see much more great things here. Emerald Beat's set was basically just covered up with plywood walls right? So I imagine in Celtic Fyre strike, we would see some old things uncovered. I am excited for this show the most. By the way, great job on the sneaky pics, they are pretty decent for sneaky pictures.

Night Beats sounds like Jack is Back converted into Vampires.

Dig It Up sounds like Monster Stompe Revamped converted into historical stuff.

With these new shows, I think they were basically trying to re-do the old shows but with new names and locations. I am counting on these shows to live up to their previously matched shows.

Open Casket seems pretty neat, I can see them adding a table top that lines the cement foundation going around the platform, guests sitting there order and drink from there.

Inoculation Station sound basically the same as Open Casket but in Ireland with a few different twists.

It is glad to see the park adding more than just Haunted Houses and "scare zones/hordes"

The exit tunnel for Bitten isn't new. It's just being fixed from falling down over the off months the place isn't used.

Oh really? I don't remember it from last year? Then again, I don't recall visiting that house last year. I remember 2010 it didn't have an exit tunnel. I remember that because I did the scream cam. Yeah, then just ignore that comment. It will be new for me :p

It does help every bit. People will more than likely decide to go to BGW if they can find a significant amount in savings.

BTW, thanks for the update Zachary. Are you going back this weekend for more updates?

Umm, yeah. They kinda do. Especially if you're a family with 3 kids. $20 coupons save you $100. That could certainly be the difference in going vs. not going.

What the really need for HOS is Fri/Sun only deals. Saturdays are at capacity and Fridays and Sundays are moderate to slow.

If everything goes as planned, I'll be there on Saturday to report on the announcement and provide a full HOS update.

In other news, I've been told that there's a ton of work being done this week. Next weekend's update should be quite impressive.

I have been told that the maze is being reversed this year. The old entrance is now the exit.

I think the circle they are talking about is outside the Festhaus where the planter, maypole, and the stupid cows used to be.

They've gone back and forth. Last I heard they still haven't decided.

Alot of haunted houses that I've been to are usually open Thursday-Sunday. They have discounted tickets on Thursday & Sunday and full price tickets on Friday and Saturday.

If BGW did like $40 for Friday and Sunday, that would attract more people.
