RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Hello! I've been lurking the boards for the past few weeks. I made my first trip to Howl-O-Scream in 2007. I've been a few times since then and I have enjoyed it. One of my favorite attractions was Never After. I really would love to see it brought back.

I've read the rumors of mostly everything being the same as last year with a new house and new show. Last year was pretty decent. I mainly did the houses and the fiends show. I liked the 13 house. The others were ok; nothing special. I'm hoping if their is a new house, it's something that has never been done before and very scary.

Looking forward to see what awaits us this year.

For me deadline was the best the theming alone was hhn good. 13 was fun but the line was 2 and a half hours long!! Too long for anything imo. I am glad both are returning. It should be a good year besides the shows(never watch them anyway)

^ ... Cheap? You're going to have to explain yourself with that one...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I agree that deadline was the best maze there, I just think it needed more scare actors. It was kindve more to look at than actually being scared. But very well themed!

I wish that Busch Gardens would stop being so CHEAP and go back to the Howl O Scream I so much loved in 2005-2006.

??????

What u talkin bout Willis?

(Oh come on, it was RIGHT there).

The fact that New France's "theme" in 2005 was the "Apple Festival" puts it as one of the worst HOS seasons based on that alone imho.
Anyway, I don't think it's even a matter of cheap-- it's a matter of correct planning on part of what guests actually want and organizing the mazes/zones in a logical manner. Honestly (and I have no idea as to the backgrounds of upper management), they should hire someone full time that has a background in urban planning or something similar (yes, I realize this is unlikely) for any/all special events that take place at the park. The flow/design of the park (mazes +SZs during HOS, penguins + Gloria line during CT) is one of the biggest issues right now- solving that would be a big improvement.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Are you saying that you want hos to be less crowded? I agree, but the only way to make The park bigger(Maybe expansion in 2013 or 2014?) add more houses/scare zones(wont do that. 6 is there limit for houses imo), make the capacity less(who in there right mind would do that as you would be losing money), or make it an upcharge event(not this year, maybe 2013?. All i'm saying is that hos is very popular....and lines will stay long

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

^ No, I'm not concerned about the length of the lines themselves or the number of people in them (typo in my first post- when I said "flow of the park" I mean "flow of lines during special events") I'm concerned about a) the layout of mazes like 13 and, to an extent, Fear Fear, where it isn't so much of a maze as it as a slow. walk-through, and b) where the lines themselves are located. The bottlenecking in Ireland is completely ridiculous and there has to be some way of opening it up a bit while keeping the park numbers close to the same (extending the line more into the parking lot comes to mind). They've (hopefully) made an improvement this year with the movement of Jack to Oktoberfest which should open up the main path in Ireland. I would also hope they would change/extend the layout of Grin and Scare it-- the backups in that area (the main entrance to Festa) aren't very well thought out either.

I forgot about Deadline. I enjoyed that one too.

I have no idea what HOS was like in 2005-2006. Was their anything good during those years?

I agree with VT that BGW should come up with a better plan as to where they should place their HOS events.
