RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

You know, if I had to choose a house to upcharge, I would do 13. Because it is a great idea, it just needs to be tweaked and worked on some to really be worth it though. I mean, it combines what Halloween is about, your fears and scares. I actually though some of the fears they had were pretty good. My favorite one was death. The one I though was second best was fear of the dark, then the best special effect room was heights. Although to stop people from walking on the mirrored part, I would add supports forcing people to the center with a sign saying don't look down. That way they naturally look down to see the effect and sty right in the middle. Also, add a little incline to it.

maybe also elevate the path a little bit? like 3 inches of a solid box so it won't reflect and ruin the effect but enough so you could feel truly afraid.

The specific room (the heights room) had a light source on the bottom projecting what seemed to be fire. As people walk up about an inch or so, they look down and they will see the fire like effect, which will scare them to stay on the small narrow path. It doesn't have to be heightend by much, just enough to make the guest feel something strange is going on with the floor and a blockade of some sort guiding the guests on to the path as they cross.

Also, a great idea, do the same thing but the path can be themed to a broken or soon to be broken bridge, like the kind you see in movies all the time when they have to crossing a huge gap. Best examples, Indiana Jones, The Emperor's New Groove, Season of the Witch.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Yes they were. However my point can be demonstrated in this attached picture. The black represents the pathway, yellow the mirrors with fire effect, and red indicates a rope or some kind of blockade to direct the guests onto the center path part that will incline about an inch or so.

With the guest being center toward the middle of the floor single file, and the floor inclining, even just a bit, and if they add some caution or warning signs of some deep trench or something, that would give the guest reason to look down while crossing, be scared, and stay on the center path.

About the whole being buried alive/death/ending, I think they should of had the walls/ceiling more powerful. I was disappointed they toned it down.

I doubt they will do that. Their workforce is under the age of 18. That should be kept in mind, so honestly, they will probably make more announcements and more signs and refer to it as sexual content instead of inappropriate content and then just make the event known as not for kids at all during the night and what not.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

Most likely, they will be more blunt this year in their warning signage

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

I think they will amp up the warnings some more, but of course parents will always complain.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2012 Rumors

^Because almost nobody reads (or follow) the signs... seems like they need to have an attendant out there telling everyone who appears under the age 18 that the shows are not appropriate for kids
