RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Correct. Last two years it has not been because it has had that museum style walk through in it.

Oh, I forgot about that.

Any idea if they're going to do a museum walk through of Dead Line?

I wouldn't think so. But, I don't know for sure. I wonder what houses will open at 12. If any?

I would guess Catacombs. It was open at noon last year. Or possible the one in Ireland. Cavern of Darkness was open at noon in '09.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I loved having Catacombs and Caverns of Darkness open in the early afternoon- especially on a Friday. It's the only time I could actually go though a house in peace.

Pompeii is usually open during the day and the Flume is open all hours. Roman Rapids is closed.

Last year Pompii was closed all day and Roman Rapids and LeScoot closed at 5:00.

Well.. isn't the point of the maze not to be in peace? Haha but I know what you mean. And if 13: your numbers up is anything like cavern of darness, it will have a swarming line all the time (except, of course, the early open hours).

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I also liked about those two during the day because your eyes are not adjusted to the darkness yet and everything in the mazes appear to be really dark.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Houses:
"13: Your Number's Up" (Europe in the Air Queue)
"Dead Line" (Under Pompeii)
"Catacombs" (Royal Palace Theatre)
"Fear Fair" (Behind Roman Rapids)
"Bitten" (Drachen Fire Station)

Scare Zones:
"Widow Makers" (New France)
"Grin and Scare It" (Festa Italia)
"Unleashed" (Ireland)
"Stitchin' Time" (Germany)
"Scanvengers" (Scotland)

Shows:
"Monster Stomp Revamped" (Abbey Stone Theatre)
"Jack is Back" (Ireland)
"Fiends at the Festhaus" (Das Festhaus)

(Blue: Confirmed | Black: Rumored | Bold: New Info)

Scanvengers
Confirmed. Official description:
Through dense for lies a Scottish village farmstead where scarecrows oversee recently harvested fields that now lie barren. By day all is well. As night falls, those who once protected against scavengers turn on those who created them. Beware the tables have turned, and now you are being stalked.

Are we saying there is going to be a separate surprise announcement from the 2012 announcement that pertains only to Howl-O-Scream? Anyone got a guess what that "surprise" announcement would be? I doubt it, but the return of the train would be the best surprise. I feel like we would have heard about that by now though.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

So, from the descriptions above, plus pics from swift, we know all of the themes except for San Marco (including pompeii area) and Oktoberfest (I'm presuming "Germany" means Rhinefeld in the case of Stichin' Time).

I'm thinking maybe we'll see a reflection of whatever is inside EfP on the outside, but I'm curious if they're going to try and do something with San Marco and Oktoberfest- it feels especially strange to leave San Marco completely empty of any HOS attractions. Oktoberfest being somewhat unthemed would not surprise me though as I don't think the hamlet as a whole has ever had a "real" theme (FP as an exception)

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

If it was the train coming back, we would see some sort of construction or set up by now. In all likelihood, they're probably just going to unveil the last haunt there. I'm sure that if it was another house, somebody would know about it and it would have been leaked.

I really do wish the train would come back, it kind of confusese me that they would shut down the train for Illuminights but not HoS. One of my best HoS memories was on that train.

With the construction going on, I think they want to limit the crowds in that area as much as possible.

sort of confused by your comment...the train ran all day and stopped at 8 when the fireworks were loaded onto the tracks via rail car...will the train be used for HoS?(not themed)...it's still an enjoyable mode of transportation around the park..:p

also the train ran 3 hours into illuminights before shutting down. The first shows started at 5. So you got two shows(almost three) worth out of the train...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Well, that's what I meant. They shut down the train at night for Illuminights but not for HoS. It will be used at night, but not HoS themed.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

^If they did not shut the train down during IllumiNights you would smash into the firworks....

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

That's the point. If they're willing to stop normal train service for fireworks, why couldn't they stop it for a HoS attraction?

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

That is a good point... Probably for space, where else would they be shot off at?
