RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Well my phone wont let me quote but even if they did take the actual floor out there was still like plywood or whatever on the floor, and don't get me wrong here THERE COULD BE A GOOD BC HOUSE, just not the medievil one that KD had, and busch should take that into consideration... I never said don't use it...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I know...thats the problem i thought it would only be a couple of minutes...lines would be long also because everyone wants to go into the "new" house which the entire ordeal wouldnt be worth the long wait.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

The dodgem house at KD sucked, but it was pretty long. I'd say atleast 5 minutes...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Anyone thought about the fact that this year is the 13th of HOS? I just bring it up due to the fact that the clowns are coming back and thirteen is a "big" year for Halloween events. Possibility that some other previous attractions are returning?

I realize the train has already been given a no, but what about things like Haunts showing in the Globe (they did this for a couple of years during HOS), Starfright Orchestra, Sleepy Hollow (perhaps relocated), and the wolves in the reserves (granted, I doubt they would discard the spiders after only a year- although I see them fitting in well in Pompeii if they could figure out a way to have the black robe guys there too).

On to other ideas for houses- I brought this up last HOS when we were getting hints about HOS. Why not use the old eagle's nest area (part of the train wait area if necessary) for a house? There's a decent amount of space and the queue line could be in Le Scoot. It's also out of the way a bit and wouldn't impede traffic.

Granted, this idea connects to the one I have about having at least one in each hamlet. If we use the existing ones, the new france idea posted above, place one in the rhine river cruise queue line (I would count this as Rhinefeld fyi), restart Cavern of Darkness (I'm including wild reserve as part of Ireland for this purpose), then that leaves England and scotland which would be next to impossible. I can dream though, can't I? (Then again, if I am dreaming I'm putting a maze in the stables and the area that was the queue for flight of lights- problem solved haha)

(Wow this is longer than I thought- tl; dr to be expected haha)

The old Eagles nest area is being used as the new smoking area for new france this year.

Is it permanent looking or just the benches like usual? I never really go back to ride Le Scoot or the train. The only reason I brought it up in the first place is that it is never being used- so of course it is now haha. (Sort of OT- but if any area of the park needed a face lift, in my opinion it is that corner. Since the redid the area from the start of new france to about the old pictures, the rest of that area looks so off).

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I would just like to point out that in the media kit, under howl o scream it says that there will be all new bone chilling houses

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

This is the Media Kit for Busch Gardens 2011

http://www.buschgardens.com/AssetManagement/Assets/WIP/BGV/2011%20Media%20Kit.pdf

According to the media kit, "The Scare Is Everywhere" will be back.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I see the reasons for making Hallowscream kid friendly, especially as I have a daughter who is petrified of the park at dark during that season. On the other hand, I really wish they hadn't dumbed down everything. It was great those first couple of years with the roaming vampires, clowns and madmen with chainsaws!

I think the compromise should be to designate areas of the park as scare zones, where, as was mentioned earlier, it is PG13 and all the roamers can have their fun. The trick would be making a clear path through the park for G rated areas. As much as I loved the werewolves along threadneedle, it was tough getting through that thoroughfare with a petrified kiddo.

I really think they should bring back the wicked woods, keep catacombs, and ruins of pompeii. an then get rid of the FP houses until next year. and just think of more new houses!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I would love to see Wicked Woods come back. I really loved that house. I also think that soemthing along the lines of Alone would be pretty sick. I think that with a revamping of Pompeii would be nice. Last time that all of the houses were supposed to be "new" they just changed the name of Pompeii and that's it. Maybe this time they will re-do some of the inside of the house. We got the picture earlier from someone from the inside, and it looks pretty good. Catacombs deffinately needs to stay. It was a sick house last year. One time me and a friend went through by ourselves because there was no line and it was crazy intense. If they bring the FP houses back, I would love to see them change up this year. I was kind of bored with Bitten last year, and Hunted actually wasn't that bad, but could use some work. Scrap the whole Harvest Hallow house, and use the props in another location. The shacks looked sick though but could easily be used somewhere else very well. Since the clowns will be back, some type of carnival themed house would be crazy in the RR line. Also if the clowns are going to be in Festa if they decide not to use the RR line the Cursed/Wicked Woods area would make a crazy carnival house with some change in decor. It would be nice, long, and kind of open for clowns to run free. I really would like to see Cavern of Darkness back, I really enjoyed that house, and well Europe in the Air is terrible in my opinion. Anything that Busch can do to increase the scare is welcome.

The Pompeii revamp from last year had to be dropped for various reasons, it's likely a high priority for this season.
