they won't ever do a house inside RR...

If they could use RR, they would have a long time ago. For BG, that would be a safety issue. They would have to build a ramp to access the trough. They must have a certain number of emergency exits and using the trough would require ladders/ramps again. Also, the biggest point I think is that it is a trough! When it rains, the rainwater rushes down it which would not be safe/damage props.
Just too much time/money/effort would be needed to convert it into a maze.

If Pompeii is going to be a subway Theme, I'm just wondering how they are going to pull that transformation off.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

How are they gonna get actors in Escape from Pompeii? The show building is covered in water, so unless you like swimming actors trying to scare you, I don't think it would turn out that fantastic. :p

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

the top of the show building is partially covered in water...ie a trough....the bottom section has a vast open space...enough for ride maintenance/park ops office and a maze....

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Hey guys , quick update for today:
They have fixed the location of the scarezone and haunted house in italy today on the map.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

BG marketing people probably read the forum and told the website designers that they screwed up!

^^The Pompeii effects building is basically hollow. The "ceiling" of the maze/maintenance area is the bottom of the trough that the boats ride through.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

What I mean is that, Pompeii in no way resembles anything to do with a Subway. What are you going to do, walk into a ruined building/temple and find a random subway?

Either:

1. They're going to do a great job pulling something off to make it a subway looking place.
2. They're not going to do anything to the outside and its going to make no sense. (Probably this one if not 3)
3. Its not a subway theme and we're wrong.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

ok I don't get what your talking about Wings at HHN you walk up to a tent (albeit a nice facade) but clearly a tent nonetheless and they transport you into Chucky's world or the Wolfman or SAW... if it is good inside then that is all that matters it might not fit into Pompeii but it may have a really good stand alone theme... I seriously wonder if people in Tampa ever freak out cause they aren't House about lions and rhinos and crap

The higher your numbered list gets, the farther and farther you get from the truth.

Okay. I remember reading somewhere that part of this Pompeii maze was going to be outside and then go inside. This leads me to believe that they are going to use the outside portion to create the Subway atmosphere and then move you into the actual station.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I know. I am really pumped about the The Dead Line maze. I wish the park would drop some more hints about SZ's though.

not too hard to be believe seeing that last year the maze started from a somewhat covered outside and moved indoors...

Wolves are back by the wildlife reserve for the scarezone.

UNLEASHED

The full moon looms. The fog creeps closer. And somewhere in the distance, a creature howls. There are werewolves on the prowl, and they’re coming nearer—hunting for unsuspecting human prey. So listen for the rustle of dry leaves in the bushes, and beware the creepy cry that pierces the darkness. It may be your only warning in this scare zone, where you’ll discover what happens when true fear is Unleashed.

So... 2 houses, 2 scarezones and 1 show yet-to-be officially announced...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I hope and pray for the love of God they do more than just have a scarezones with actors sprinkled about... they all should have props, and they all need lighting. Scare zones arent Scare zones without them, they are just areas with a couple walk around actors...
