RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

The question is, which one did we loose? I'm guessing it's either Dig it Up or Jack is Back...

My first reaction was "I hope we lost Jack." It's old, it's tired, it's target audience is the younger daytime crowd... Besides, Ireland will be jam-packed already with 13 and Monster Stomp...

But if Dig is really just Mix-with-an-overlay, I'm not really jazzed about that either...

Spooky Wiggles. *sigh*

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Well they already have the staff for Dig it Up, Fiends at the Festhaus, and Monster Stomp Revamped- Jack is Back is the only show they'd have to hire for, right? Maybe they decided it wasn't in their budget...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

The old jack show really wasnt that bad, the one last year was soo terrible, if they do have jack is back this year, then they atleast need to give jack his old look back

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

The missing spot could just be from the website constantly being updated. In other words, a typo.

Dig it Up: Canceled
I've been told that Dig it Up has been removed from the lineup due to Howl-O-Scream budget constraints. :-/

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Cool, a mix it up with howl-O-Scream Overlay isnt that appealing to me anyway... much rather have an epic scarezone...

No that Catacombs is Officially confirmed, I wonder if they will be changing it up slightly, adding anything to it, playing with the layout perhaps? Make it feel just a little bit different? Busch is Notorious for keeping the same exact layout In their houses for ages...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I would rather have any other show than Jack is Back but maybe Busch will suprise us this year with the show. I know one thing there will be 50 catrillion people in Ireland during Howl O Scream.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I know i am a couple pages late for the widow scare zone, but it keeps coming in and out of the discussions. Does anybody remember the spider in Cavern of Darkness? It was a guy in a suit on the floor with the back of his head painted black. He would kinda lunge at your feet and hiss. They might be using that costume for that scare zone. Oh, how a little thought turns into a big post.

@Youhow I've been told it will be different and scarier, not sure how but let's hope they are right

the exact wording was "new frights inside"

I think they should keep the entrance portion the same though. It's very effective.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Interesting; Tampa's main HOS page no longer has the clock tower, and now has the same statue & similar roses as BGW... their poem has changed as well....

“The garden is blooming, the garden does grow, But under the moon, evil begins to show.”

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I totally forgot about that spider costume. That was pretty good. It got quite a bit of people in Cavern of Darkness. That part was certainly better than the sliders that came up to the rail as you walked through the actual ride platform. *yawn*

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

The sliders were okay. I just about had my eyes closed the whole time. Mind you that was my first haunted house. I didn't want to go through but I was dragged inside.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

So we only have 2 more spaces left for haunted houses/mazes. I wonder if they will be Hunted and Bitten, or something different, or will Hunted and Bitten even be included in the 13. They may end up being extra bonus haunted houses if they are able to open them as long as the construction is on time.
