RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Its a good idea, but I don't think it would happen. If an injury were to occur they would blame the park somehow. Would this race be during park hours, if so what about the people who do not want to participate, you said it goes through the whole park so what would they do. It's a good idea though for like a school to do for a fundraiser though I think :p

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Well, like most races, a waiver would have to be signed in advance in order to participate. It would happen after operating hours. It would make the most sense to have it on a Friday because the park closes earlier than Saturdays. There would be an hour between park closing and this in order to get all of the guests out of the park, but registration and check ins would begin two hours before the race in a special building so the general public doesn't interfere. And instead of a fundraiser, a portion of the proceeds would go to the Conservation Fund.but it could always work as a fundraiser too

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Well liability would be covered by the waivers that every participant would need to sign and first aid and security would be there the entire time watching over everything and keeping everyone safe.

And I'm not saying it's going to happen, it was just a thought

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

It was not a race. It was a survival game. Look up Survive Norfolk, Survive San Diego, Charleston, New York, etc. It is nothing like a race. It is to see who can outlast the zombies and get to a target. There is no awards given.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

Well I didn't think this would be nit-picked...so I used the wrong word, ok. I've done plenty of races and this would count as one. You're trying to get to the finish line first, sounds like a race to me. Yes, it's a giant game of tag, but you're still racing to the finish line. And there doesn't have to be a huge awards ceremony to still be counted as a race

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

It was not about who gets there first. It was about who got there at all. My close friend was the one who planned it. There was no 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

All liability would not be covered by waivers because it's happening on private land and it is still the responsibility of whoever owns that land to ensure the safety of their guest, regardless of what they consent to on a waiver. Busch would still be abled to get sued for negligence if someone found a way to get hurt...

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

It was a haunted house that you paid to go through alone...itmwas called "Alone" and was one of the more ontense houses....nonword of well get one

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

If you go to horrornightnightmares.com, there's a few really good, extremely detailed reviews of Alone. Just go towards the bottom of the forum under BGT's HowloScream topic.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I hope they do get something like Alone, it would be alot of fun.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I could see BGW adding an "Alone" to the park. Where do you think they would put it? What if they saved the revamping of Revenge of Pompeii for this new attraction? I believe that that would be the ideal place to put an attraction like that.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

They could put it in a whole new place. If one (or four if you are scared) go thru, it can be alot more narrow because there arent as big of groups going thru. They could have the larger rooms, like BGTs Alone, where the main parts of the story happen, but the halls to the rooms can be narrower than any regular maze.
