Just gonna add on to what's been said here, but my group always goes on a Friday and have never had a problem with crowds or long lines. I think the longest we've ever had to wait was like 20 minutes and that was for Tollway, which is always a bit of a wait just by the nature of the attraction. Medieval Macabre would always be a longer wait too when it was around, probably because of the stupid camera bit at the beginning.

We are usually in the park aroud 730 and hit every maze, every scare zone, usually a ride on Dominator and Intimidator, and hit a maze or two for a second time within a few hours. A lot of times, we end up walking right in as there is no line, which is fantastic. Our group is scattered around MD, while I'm in Northern VA, so it can be a pain getting down there on a Friday night with rush hour, but it's so worth it to not deal with the madhouse of Saturday nights. So anyone worried about crowds, just take the advice here, save yourself the headache and go on a Friday.

For those who have gone this year, what have they done around the old PrimEvil area? It doesn't seem like The Yard extends that far, so do they at least have roamers around that area or is it just a dead space?

On another music-related note (no pun intended), I'm really happy to report that Haunt's classic International Street soundtrack is back. Last year, the long-running soundtrack of sad, mysterious songs and film scores was replaced with dramatic, intense battle scene music. The 2017 soundtrack was okay, but it was kind of generic and reminded me of the InvadR plaza music. The now-returned classic soundtrack fits International Street and Haunt so perfectly in my opinion. The tone is somewhere between haunting and beautiful, combining a sense of tranquil mourning with a few quirky, sinister pieces mixed in. It lends a dreamlike elegance to nightfall on International Street, and the understated simplicity of it all makes it one of my favorite charms about all of Haunt. So glad the old music is back.

Here are some of my favorites.

So I went to Haunt last night.

Basically, The consensus between me and my girlfriend was after HHN last year, and though HHN's scarezones are absolutely terrible, The HHN mazes just... Make every other haunt look bad. It's not a fair comparison, But my enjoyment of the Haunt was WAYYYY Down. The highlights of the night was a solo ride on Grizzly, Rerides on TT. No Line at i305.

Here are my maze rankings:

Blood on the Bayou - Alright, now this was cool. Nice animations, great scares.
No Vacancy - Adding the flashlights is actually a really cool idea. Works very well when you get to go by yourself.
Tollway Terror - This actually had the most scares of the night for me, But we were the last ones in line.
Cornstalkers - How the mighty have fallen...
Blackout - Consistently had no line throughout the night. We went in once and that was enough.
Zombie High - Man, the sets in this thing make no sense... Pretty low energy, despite the chaotic sounds.
Lockdown - This could be a really cool maze. Could be. Certainly the better of all the FOF queue mazes.

I Think I might just be suffering maze fatigue. Nothing really changed from the previous year so there was nothing new to Discover. Hope Winterfest knocks it out of the park so we get a reinvestment into the Haunt. Despite being a passholder... I think once is enough for this year.

Anyone noticing additional props popping up between opening week and now? I know that happened quite a bit in prior years as they really finalize the sets around the park after the first week or two. Just interested if those who have been multiple times have noticed that this year.

Can someone please tell me what the fuck is wrong with Haunt tonight? Casts are almost non-existent. There are seriously four actors in Zombie High right now. I've never seen understaffing to this degree before in my life. Tonight makes Howl-O-Scream look like a gem.

PS: Zombie High and Blood on the Bayou are both ungodly hot. I legitimately think it may actually be dangerous to staff these houses right now but, from the customer's perspective, that's really no excuse. People pay good money for this event and it is horrendous tonight.

This afternoon and evening the park appeared to me to be pretty badly staffed in an lots of areas and did not look like it was st sl ready or able to handle the crowds on hand. I have to ask is it time for them to consider the pricing of the Haunt or st least the pricing on certain days ss s way to control crowd sizes on peak nights?

Not just the scare staff food and beverage services were horribly under staffed and slow to. It honestly was one of the worst park experiences I have had in a long time.

To give examples of stuff I personally saw 45 minute lines out the door at Hungry Hippo, 20 pluss minute waits at a Boardwalk Fry, Outer Hanks close at 5:00 and wish I was being over dramatic when I say the employees were chasing away probably about 75 to 100 people while they were trying to close it. No drink or ice cream stands open while it was HOT and humid.

We were facing the same problems tonight! Like I legitametly felt bored in several of the houses. We waited an hour and a half for tollway terror and there were only five actors. The only house that gave me actual scares was cornstalkers.

It was so mobbed -- on a Sunday! I can't remember last time I've been there when it was like that. Panda line was 50 feet out the door and Grove beer stand line was even longer. Problems even walking with the crowds of people, ride-ons, tiny kids and strollers all jamming together. I got a ride on Grizzly and ate at Mac Bowl for my second time, chosen by line length. That was good and they were allowing tots on Dining Plan (but not mixed). I left because also was sweaty humid.

The 2 houses I went through Friday were fine. Was much cooler though. Scare zones have been foggier and darker this year! No Skeleton keys this year, also not seeing the little food stands pushing turkey legs. ;)

It was Columbus Day weekend and the only Sunday of the Haunt season where the park was open until midnight rather than 10. The past few years they've been open Columbus Day Monday (today), but are not this year.

Nest Sunday, does Haunts start earlier, or is there only 3 hours of haunts? I wish the opened the indoor houses earlier around 6pm to give more time.
If I remember correctly that has kind of been a call made on the fly in the past. Based on crowd sizes and other factors but I usually hit up Resurrection so my memory is not great on that.

What bothered me the most last night was two things. One under staffing the park has been a trend this year rather then an exception. The other thing is that there were easy steps that could have been taken alleviate some of those lines like open a drink station or two throughout the park. I only saw a single drink station open all day and that closed early to. If they didn't want to use theed outside ones because of the bees then they could hAve opened the unused side of the restaurants ass they all looked to be tunningnonly one side ss a drink only line clearing out the drink crowds from the main food lines. Heck just waving the scan the cup rule on the souvenir cups would have sped things up.

But again the lack of service send the quality of service has been bad this year in general. I was fussed at by a staff member for having my phone out in the area BETWEEN TT and AZ. I was not in a ride line and had no intention of getting in one. To make the whole thing more ridiculous while the staff member was fussing at me about it TT was down and the line was closed so there was Zero chance that I was taking in on it at that point.
