You should be safe for 2019, as the KD homepage still has the following when advertising their 2019 Season Passes:

"Get Unlimited Visits and Free Parking in 2019 to Kings Dominion, Soak City, Halloween Haunt, and WinterFest!"

Whether they change it for 2020 remains to be seen (IMHO, I doubt it), but since they've still got the above statement for 2019 passes and has had a similar statement going back to August 2018 when I renewed, a backtrack on 2019 Season Passes sure would create a backlash.

Given what I saw at Haunt last year, I think making it a separately ticketed even would probably improve it... or at least make it safer.

I went to Haunt 10 times last year and have gone 9-10 times for the previous 10 years and the only time I've ever felt unsafe was at BGW when someone started up a chainsaw at a group which then almost trampled me. And, obviously, I would be against tickets.

I usually make 4-5 trips up which would be reduced if they go to a separate ticket but I agree crowd and other safety concerns have been a growing issue especially on Saturdays the last few years so I wouldn't rule it out or totally be against it. Personally I would like to them do something like the pass being good for ONLY one or two visits so that you still have some Haunt value while reducing the crowds some.

From what I understand, the park brought in extra security from a third party after the opening night fiasco last year. Obviously, it was a terrible oversight on their part to have not planned on needing the additional security that night too.

Does KD have a capacity cut of and if so any guesses as to what it is. I don't recall ever seeing them post that they are at capacity like I have seen from BGW.

Sorry this took so long to respond to, but I don't believe KD has ever closed gates due to a capacity issue (like BGW does on peak days). From what I've seen and heard, some of the later nights of WinterFest actually got dangerously close to capacity (which I would assume is a smaller number due to Safari Village being closed). Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Unrelated to that and working off of an idea that @Connor talked about in the Haunt 2018 thread, I think it would be cool for KD to revamp Lake Charles Zombie High into a shoot-out type of maze. I think it would bring "life" into the park's oldest non-corn-themed maze AND the park could market it as something that isn't usually seen at a theme-park Haunt. The only thing stopping me from going full-force into the idea is that it will bring the number of "gimmick" houses to three, assuming that BlackOut and No Vacancy: Condemned stay for 2019 (which they almost certainly will). If the park decides to go through with another "gimmick" house, I also want to see an additional maze with a Blood on the Bayou quality level that knocks my socks off.

EDIT: As @Joe pointed out, I didn't think about how having a shooting-type attraction inside of a high school is an awful idea. Yikes. With that being said, a shooting-type attraction would be cool to implement SOMEWHERE at Haunt that is totally PC.

Has the park ever done a werewolf theme for Haunt? Right now, they're hitting your major Halloween horrors with witches, scarecrows, vampires, and zombies. Why not add werewolves? I actually think it'd be cool to use the Dinosaurs Alive space so you can be out in the woods and stumbled across a pack of werewolves. Based on what the park has been pumping out in recent years when it comes to high quality houses, I'd love to see what they can do now in the woods.

I don't think KD has ever done this, but I second the idea! Other Cedar Fair parks have werewolf attractions, so I wouldn't be shocked if we got something like this.

While I’m not sure if this piece of news is related to the future of these attractions, I think it is important to note that pieces from both Necropolis and the International Street “ride graveyard” are being used for the Grand Carnivale.

OUR FIRST OFFICIAL PIECE OF HAUNT NEWS FOR 2019!

Moonmaxx is directing a new Haunt show on the Bandstand for 2019! It’s great to know that we’ll be getting a new show this year...I just wish we had a name to go with it! My gut tells me that there is a LOT more to be announced for this upcoming Halloween Haunt season. Stay tuned!

June 2019’s Reader’s Mailbag included a question regarding Haunt 2019...and they may have even left a hint about what’s coming!

In a recent tweet with the Halloween Haunt of that girl with the teeth out, is this hinting at Tooth Fairy from Knott’s Berry Farm coming to Kings Dominion this year? – Baxter E., Lynchburg, VA

That’s a good guess – we like the way you think. While that toothy beast sure was scary, she’s actually from the Cleaver Brother’s Carnival last year and just one of the many intricate monsters you can encounter at Halloween Haunt! Have all the fear though - we’ve got some different tricks and treats up our sleeves this year at Haunt. Stay tuned, but don’t start carving the pumpkins just yet. You might lose your head over the scares we have in store.

I think we’re going to see a variation of Pumpkin Eater somewhere in the park this year. Kings Island last year during Haunt did a wonderful scare zone with great atmosphere similar to the floating pumpkins found in Scotland at BGW. I could easily see this as a replacement for where Feary Tales once was or better yet, a new house.
