Since they have face painting stations in the park, I assume it will be like last year, and they will allow you in if half or less of your face is painted. My daughter went like this last year, and they told her she had to wipe off either the white or red paint, as she could only have half of her face painted. For the record, she wiped off the white :)

She did a better job Im glad KD does not allow full costumes/paint though. I feel like some people would attempt to scare people that they shouldn't. It's a rule im not opposed to, it fits.
I was wishing I could scare some people after Halloween with this look at kd last year haha (no bat though, of course)

The very last pre-season Halloween Haunt photo update is now available at BuschDominion.com. In this article, there are over 85 pictures of and a thorough  on Kings Dominion's latest preparations for Haunt.

Final Halloween Haunt Photo Update
https://buschdominion.com/2016/09/28/final-halloween-haunt-photo-update/

Thanks for that, Joe. I'm surprised to see so little done to the facade for Trick or Treat. You'd think they would want to show off their newest facade more than any of the others. Hopefully it just means they have something cool up their sleeves.

I'm actually glad to see Primevil be relocated. I've said it before, but it's easily the most disappointing scare zone for me every year. I'd say the last 3 years I've gone to Haunt, I've probably seen 3 scare actors total in the scare zone. Maybe being in more of a path, it'll force the actors to be closer together and have more of an effect.

Stupid Unstrung and its stupid outdoor stage.

Feary Tales has a lot of work to do. That's my favorite scare zone every year, so I'm hoping it all comes together.

Fortunately, it looks like I'll be going on the 15th, so everything should be in place by then, the kinks should be worked out in the mazes, and the actors should all be in their groove. Bitter it's a Saturday night since I've only done Fridays in the past and avoided big crowds, but oh well. Looking forward to Haunt as always. Favorite time of the year by far.

I have a question that might be stupid but I know that they say a new ticket is required to reenter after the start of the haunt. Can you reenter on your pass after the haunt starts?

Nope.

The no re-entry policy applies to season pass holders as well as ticket holders. So, if you need to go eat outside the park, put something in your car, or get something out of it, do so before 7:00 pm. Else, plan on buying a ticket to get back in.

I assume this was to discourage folks from doing stuff like going out to drink alcohol or slipping into or bringing a costume into the park, etc.

Plus, even on regular operating days, a season pass can only be scanned once per day. If you need to leave the park and come back the same day, a hand-stamp was needed for re-entry. But, during Haunt operating hours, you leave the park, you will need to buy a ticket to come back in.

Very cool. Based on the façade and what we saw in the behind the scenes vide, it looks like they put a good amount of work and detail into this maze. Very excited to see how it all comes together.

I just noticed a very interesting change that occurred sometime between yesterday and today.

Maze of Madness is no longer on the Haunt website. In its place is a maze named Urgent Scare.

The description reads:
Kings Dominion said:
It’s time for your checkup! Newly opened in the historic Doswell Hospital, Urgent Care is the place to go. Our amazing team is the premier provider in low-cost healthcare. If your ailment doesn’t kill you, fear just might!
Link to Urgent Scare page

I think I know exactly why this happened. Last weekend, Knott's Berry Farm came under fire after complaints that their new "FearVR 5150" maze was insensitive to people with mental disabilities, since it took place in a mental hospital. Knott's quickly announced they will shut down the maze.

Notice the new description of "Urgent Scare" makes no mention of a mental hospital or crazed patients. In what feels like deja-vu to Miner's Revenge in 2013, it looks like Cedar Fair is looking to avoid any further criticism and has pulled the plug on the theme in their parks.

I suspect we will see the maze take on a more generic hospital theme tomorrow night.

I was curious if KD was going to update this. Given that Maze of Madness doesn't really have any elements that are specific to a mental hospital, I doubt we'll see much in the way of changes.

Good thing they still don't have "The Asylum" over near Grizzly anymore, if it weren't already gone sounds like it would have been closed pretty abruptly.

I, personally, kinda wish they had just closed it and moved those actors in other houses. Maze of Madness was mediocre on a good day, and I believe it is a safe assumption that Haunt will be understaffed, as usual.

I may be speaking too soon, but so far it seems to me that Haunt is back.

The Lair is dark. The path actors and stalking and scaring me. The three houses we have done have been fully staffed. I was just backed down a path by someone on stilts, and then startled from behind by a random vampire.

There still is too much light, but everything else so far has been back to 2014.
