Friday will have more than the a serge Friday because they have a lot of discounted tickets and the zombie thing going on. Saturday will be a bit busier but not that crazy because it's opening weekend. Sunday Halloween Haunt is closed so I'm sure attendance will drop that day.

The prices for the new Haunt VIP Meal are now live!

Dinner is $35 and begins at 5:00 in the Caprice Room above Starbucks. Check-in is at 4:45 at Stroller Rental. There is no VIP Meal on Friday.

Go here and click "Buy Now" for more information.

The prices have not changed from last year's smaller dinner event, and the whole thing still does seem rather pricey, especially when compared to BGW's dining experiences which hover just below the $25 mark. Of course, it's a whole lot of food here and a totally unique experience. If this ends up being as good as it sounds, hopefully it will be worth it!

I think this is great and all but the problem is the time the meal takes place. With Igor's and Blood Banquet it's obvious to where it is and the price is over ten dollars cheaper. The fact that it's before Haunt and you have to reserve a spot really kills it. When I go to a themepark to eat it should be quick, no reservation, and a good deal. On the bright side it does sound like a good addition to Haunt's lineup!

Oh, I absolutely agree. A three-course personally-catered, cooked-to-order meal with a creative menu trumps a buffet with an "interactive pasta station" any day. There's no question that this is meant to be a "fine dining" type of experience, which I think is absolutely wonderful for the park and what we can expect in the future.

So is anyone going this weekend? I probably won't make it until the third weekend. Looking forward to people's reviews and pictures. Seeing the park in full on Haunt mode will be awesome. The props look great, but they lose their luster in the daylight, obviously.

I will be there opening night if anyone wants to say hi.

If anyone is interested in the Haunt Fast Pass with the Skeleton Key room access, check out the "NewsPlusNotes" site (Scroll Down to the September, 22 blog entry). You can see a picture of the actual Skeleton Key they gave out with the fast pass at Kings Island. A couple more photos of the Skeleton Key with the Fast Pass is on the Kings Island thread at "Theme Park Review" (might have to scroll back 2-3 pages (go to page 1122 to see photo trip report). One the photos shows a few close-ups of the key. The center of the key glows in the dark.

I assume Kings Dominion's will be the same; just that the center of the key will have Kings Dominion instead of KI.

The last time I went to KD on one of their discounted ticket days, the place was a madhouse. I could be completely off-base, but I am anticipating crowds Friday.

I can't go Friday but I still want to go on a Saturday when lines are horrible and use Skelton Key.

Usually, the first 2 weekends of Haunt are not horribly crowded on Saturdays. This is because the State Fair of Virginia is running starting this Friday the 26th through Sunday October 5th. The fair is happening just 1/2 mile east of KD at the Meadow event park on Route 30 (the road that runs in front of the Kings Dominion).

I've never purchased a Haunt Fast Pass... Is it the same as a regular Fast Pass except that it works for mazes?

It doesn't work with the rides but it does work with houses. Also, Skeleton Key allows you to go into a secret room for certain houses..
