I feel like the big question is whether they run Tempesto - it adds a coaster to the lineup if they’re losing two, but I feel like re-adding Loch Ness gives them far more capacity. But if they don’t open it, it will be the only coaster that won’t have run at all this season. Feels like something that will be fluid as they figure out the margins.

I don't think that they are losing two coasters. I could be wrong but my impression is that Griffon is closing and Apollo is taking it's place and the rest of the current coasters will stay open.

I don't expect to see Tempesto open though. It would be hard to social distance and the queue would probably also have a longer wait time than the other coasters because it's only one train.

Hershey’s has been running Sidewinder and they have a lot more than 1000 guests in the park. They started out running one group per car, but have moved to filling every row, which I’m guessing is to keep the lines from getting too long.

My guess is that they close Ireland and Aquatiane. That allows Trapper's, Invadr, and the newly opened log flume so stay running. Griffon would be swapped for Apollo. The should open the bridge between Scotland and Germany as well to provide a loop around the park. The current layout of having to walk the long way back from Germany is not ideal. I saw two people complaining to park staff about that last weekend.

If it's literally a swap, they could block off Ireland through to the funnel cake shop over in Germany plus block off LotD. Festa would be iffy (staff needed more than anything else), maybe AC and a shop or two and/or games and that's it.

Where are we on the likelihood of two separate events in October? If we assume there's a single, Halloween-themed, October event with some Howl-O-Scream-esque decorations and atmospherics, I don't see the appeal of the 11am sessions at all. I've sorta assumed that we would see a family friendly, Count's Spooktacular-style morning event with more family rides open and then a darker, spookier, evening event with a more roller coasters and alcohol focus... But have yet to hear any indication of a two event setup.

If there's not a second, family-friendly event for the 11am slot... Maybe we shouldn't expect actual HOS-style path decorations and atmospherics in the October event at all? Maybe we're just looking at something harvest festival-y that will work for both time slots?

This is not the current plan that I have heard, they are planning on both France and New France to be closed with Ireland remaining open. Marco Polo would swap for Trappers. Like @Memles said Ireland makes sense to keep open as it is the home of their newest attraction.

I would expect to see maybe a single food cart in Festa with a Merch location and potentially games open as well.

Tempesto would add another high-thrill flat, you mean.

Any word on when we can make reservations for October.

Nope. The previous event was the week before, basically, but given that they've announced the dates and made mention of the October event existing on social media this time around, it's possible it could be earlier. Follow BGWFans' social media accounts, as well as the park itself—if you want to get ahead of things and you're on Twitter, set it so you get a push notification every time they tweet.

While nothing is guaranteed, it does seem like the October event will be following the limited capacity format with the two four hour windows.

I'm expecting some of these Wednesday and Thursday nights to be beyond dead, pardon my pun.

It looks like BGW expected some of those Wednesday nights to be beyond dead too... Because they cut them all from the calendar. ?

Ouch, that's a real bummer. I'd have to imagine profits and attendance are considerably down on week nights for Taste of Busch Gardens as school is now in session for all of the surrounding counties and it just doesn't justify keeping the park open an extra day of the week. The reduction in nights this early really makes me worried about how realistic it is for the park to be open for a December event at all, and I seriously doubt the park will even try to stay open in weekends during November at this point. With indoor dining and shows being off the table, the park is going to have to get really creative to make something work. I would make sure to get in your visits now and next month as the future for the 2020 season is very uncertain after October if things keep going this way.
