RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

No, Millennium Flyers are radically different than any steel coaster trains out there. For anyone who doesn't know what they look like...

any chance the trains could be retro-fitted to an existing coaster? Nessie, perhaps?

No offence but I just threw up a little in my mouth. If they do this it would be practically impossible plus Nessie's trains are fine right now they have enough parts from Python that they could make a whole train out of the spare parts.(that's what I heard from a friend who went on a roller coaster insider tour, he even saw the parts, and said that the pile of them was as tall as himself, and they've been refurbished)

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

I honestly can't see a new coaster being added next year, especially one using the Gwazi trains. We all obviously know about the noise complaints, but we also have to keep in mind that the park just put in an incredibly expensive, one-of-a-kind roller coaster just last year. I know that the park opened Alpengeist and Apollo's Chariot two years apart, but I don't think they'd repeat it. I would honestly love Europe in the Air and DarKastle to each receive a little TLC (EitA= new ride system and better show; DK= show improvements similar to Spider-Man at IOA) first before a new coaster. Also, I think if a coaster were to be added in Festhaus Park (especially next year), that'd be a bit too much for the Operations department to handle. As it is, in my many visits to the park, I've come to the conclusion that Oktoberfest and Germany each have different supervisors and that DK is part of Germany, rather than Oktoberfest. I can honestly picture the park waiting to add a new [major] coaster for when they inevitably add a new country.

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

On another note, there are 4 MiFly's that Gwazi has. 4 trains are a lot for any normal coaster, even Millennium Force. Most traditional wooden coasters stray no more than 2 trains. So IF this rumor has any merit to it, BGW could only be using 2 trains for use and have either the other two in storage or a 1 for storage, 1 for parts set-up.

Or build a dual loading station similar to Verbolten and have a fifth train on hold for spare parts. I know Sheikra and Cheetah Hunt have dual loading stations. Why not have two Williamsburg coasters with them too?

Or have a dueling coaster. I've always wanted a dueling coaster :D

I agree with this. They should update and clean up some of their older attractions and maybe repaint some things. Maybe they could update LotD or add more flat rides.

Funny... This lines up with something else that people said that was shot down instantly...

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

I'm not sure about this one. It does seem really unlikely that BGW would install a coaster, whether a steel or a wooden coaster, within 2 years of the last, but when I remember Verbolten was really just a "replacement" for BBW, 2014 would be 7 years since the last thrilling coaster.

If/when Gwazi gets the RMC treatment, I could see SWP&E hoping to reuse those brand new Millennium Flyers though, but I am not sold on it being for Williamsburg. Maybe San Antonio could get a nice GCI and use those trains. San Antonio is OVERDUE for a new coaster.

The company could also sell those trains to other parks. GCII's business is doing well so BGT could sell the trains to a park with a future GCII installation or they could even sell them to a park with an existing woodie, especially one with a GCII running PTCs (Roar at SFA).

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

So Zachary and I were talking, and lets pretend this really will happen...

So we get these four Millennium Flyer trains, what do we do with them? There will never be a Woodie in Festhaus Park its too close to Kingsmill. Ireland? The park won't want to convert EitA from a simulator just quite yet... England? Its a possibility but as b.mac pointed out this is GCI we are talking about and I can't see BGW ripping out all those trees out in that valley. It is also very unlikely that they would get a different builder to design the layout. There is nothing to say you can't put those Millennium Flyers on lets say a Gravity Group coaster or even a more traditionally designed RMC Topper Track Coaster, but its just not likely.

Lets take a look at the best possible location and the reasons why.

Pompeii. Escape from Pompeii's days are numbered. I've said this before. It is maintenance nightmare, Larry Giles hates it, and they could even reuse the Pompeii Show building in some fashion. The coaster would even be able to interact with the Rhine from that location.

Possibly, but I think that maybe they could put it beside Pompeii. Plus I really don't want Pompeii to go, the most if not all of the special effects still work, and it is very well themed. However has anybody seen the space between Pompeii, LNM, and the Rhine? I just noticed that there is a lot more room over beside Pompeii then I thought. Next time any of you guys go to BGW look out into the trees behind the hot air balloons in Davinci's garden. You will notice there is a lot of space there I think that it is possible they could put it there or any coaster for that matter.

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

I would love to see the kind of terrain that the area has there behind Pompeii.

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

You guys do know that if they use either of the areas you suggest (behind Pompeii or in between Ireland and Scotland) that you'll flip out about how the park isn't beautiful anymore and how could they cut down so many trees and it's Griffon all over again and everything was doomed the moment AB was sold to InBev and and and.....

So basically what I'm saying is that I hope they don't build it in either of those spots :) Essentially I'm still hoping they tear down Nessie and give me something comfortable, interesting, and not loved solely for the sake of nostalgia.

Ravines

Care to supply more than just "ravines"? Steep terrain hasn't stopped a coaster from being built before, and it's not like BGW is afraid of moving some terrain. Topographs would be lovely...

As you guys were saying when Verbolten was built, Trees can grow!;) And I'm sure that if the build in those areas they will try to keep as many trees as they can.
And don't ever speek about Nessie like that around me! Kidding. But take it easy on Nessie just because your one out of like every 10 people on here who hate it. I still like it even if it is a little old, and rough some people like it that way.

It would take years and years for trees to grow in the area fully. It would look very much like empty space until the trees have had time to grow. If you notice Verbolten still is very bare. If you look at Big Bad Wolf's drop the year it opened it was very bare to but give it 25 years and trees grew back around it. Sadly, I feel like it won't really be the same with Verbolten, and plu 25 years is a long time!

Oh and I was just saying that area is very steep ravines, I would compare it to the area in between England and Ireland, but steeper.
