Oh and I was just saying that area is very steep ravines, I would compare it to the area in between England and Ireland, but steeper.
GEEZ!!!!

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

Those ravines are pretty dangerous to walk through, from what I have heard from people who have been down there.

Hmmm... I'm not buying it- not yet at least. Also, for the record, all I've heard is still pointing towards 2015/2016. I you're expecting anything this big for next year, you'll likely be very disappointed.

With BGW adding nothing new in 2013, this begs the question about just what they may be planning for 2014 then. Historically, whenever BGW seemed to skip adding a new attraction in any given year, they usually had something quite good in the works for the following year.

For example, the park added nothing in 2004, but added Curse of DarKastle in 2005. They followed this up with nothing in 2006, but added Griffon in 2007, then taking 2008 off, but adding the new Sesame Street land in 2009.

I cant see the park doing anything big, or anything at all for 2014. I think they would want to wait for their 40th anniversary in 2015 to add something big.

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

Let's think about something here: Busch Gardens likes to do things big. It likes new things. It innovates with things like the floorless trains on Griffon and super weird experience (re: pacing) that is Verbolten. Never mind Kingsmill hating noise - why on earth do we think that, for a new attraction, Busch would take BGT's scraps?

Sure the trains are only a few years old, but BGW just spent 50million on a new ride. Something tells me that saving a little bit of cash with old trains isn't really their priority. The only reason we think those trains are coming here is because there's been a rumor that BGW would get a woody. The idea that the millenium flyer trains on their way to Williamsburg is based on a pipe dream likely created in forums just like this one.

So, as unlikely that is that Busch would get a woody, it's even more unlikely that any part of that ride would be "old." Especially since wooden coasters have a long history of stealing trains from each other. Those trains could be going to any number of rides, and, sorry, they're not on their way here.

Here's a topograph of the general area. I don't know about you guys but I'm not afraid to use that ravine for some good ol' cliff diving action. I do worry about the encroaching on Nessie, though.

I think just storage is probably the one idea no one ever thinks of. WHy does there have to be a hidden meaning behind everything? Thanks for the great idea and bring the attention to a more plausible result kevrol, enjoy your rep ;)

To be honest, I'd rather not see a woody coaster show up at BGW, for many reasons, but leave those to KD. Steel coasters are much quieter & wood coasters would distract terribly from the ambience of the park, imho.

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

I prefer my coasters to have a roar over a whimper. After visiting Tampa, I can honestly say our coasters sound wimpy to the likes of Kumba's powerful roar that you can hear all over. It's actually quite intimidating walking up to it from the pathway.

Our lift hills will blow your ears out though. Something needs to be done about those.

After a launch coaster, a wood coaster is pretty much all the park needs to round out its collection.

RE: Gwazi Trains Headed to Williamsburg?

Gotta love that Kumba, one of my favs. A woodie will come. Mark my words. May not be 2015, but one will come.

After what he did with the boneyard I'm pretty sure he's completely immune to being banned. :p

Welcome back Carter!

I agree, after what he did to support my boneyard thread with pictures, he should not be banned and continue to share his thoughts with us. They are very valid points.
As far as my opinion goes, I wouldn't like a woodie at BGW for several reasons, sure it would complete a collection, but the loudness would be highly distracting from the environment and ambiance of the park, the part we all love about BGW.

Considering BGW is a theme park, practically everything in the park makes some sort of loud noise from the train whistle that can be heard halfway across Kingsmill, to Mach Tower's roar, to the fireworks, and even the thousands of people that visit the park during the season.

If you really have an issue with hearing noise at a theme park, BGW isn't exactly the most ideal spot to hang out.

Part of the environment at BGW (and any other theme park for that matter) is the roar of roller coasters filled with screaming riders. That's one of the huge reasons I love Loch Ness bridge so much. It's beautiful (probably one of the most beautiful areas of the park) and it's almost deserted so at times it's literally just you and the coasters roaring overhead.

A wooden coaster will definitely add noise to the park, but that's just how theme parks are meant to sound.

Also with the new technology, wooden coasters have gotten considerably quieter.

The wonderful world of plastic and flexibility, and in Gravity Group's case an a train that can actually steer. The scariest thing is that some wooden coasters are quieter than sand filled B&Ms.

From what I have heard from riders of the BGT ride, it's a very rough one and some have gotten whiplash from it. The coaster to the left is always under maintenance. So I doubt BGW would take a coaster that doesn't add up to the ones they have now.

I would like to see a coaster that was made like the BBW brought to BGW. They could call it Revenge of the BBW. Sorry, that was and will be my favorite coaster of all time. I'm sad that when our family gets to go this summer, I won't get to ride it.

I also agree that 2015 will be the year of something big. It's the park's 40th. I would love to see Spain open up. I think it would add spice and new adventure to the park.

EFP, it does need an oomph added to it. May add some roller coaster track like the Journey to Atlantis that they have at SWO and SWSD. That would be a great addition, and the park would still have the highlight of a great attraction at Christmas. There's enough land for that to happen. JMHO.
