Is any of that track the new track that's vertical instead of horizontal? Zooming in on the fan turn one at first I thought it was on the further back rail, but looking at it closer I'm not 100% sure. I might still see layers of wood.
I saw another video saying they also use horizontal track. This was maybe regarding the Beast retrack, can't remember or find. Anyway that would make sense, the vertical track would be least advantageous and hardest to keep together on a flat turn like that, maybe it's best on straight hills.

Was this whole retrack originally meant for CGA’s Grizzly before the announcement that they would close, like certain people are speculating it to be? I hope not, because as rough as their Grizzly sounds, it just implies that CF didn’t plan on renovating ours while CGA was receiving some investment attention.

Been wondering that myself. It’s been a little while since the last Restore the Roar post.

Are there any new pictures or updates on the construction? I’ve been wondering if they’ve started or finished the drop yet.

As of this past Saturday (2/11) - unfortunately, no, there is no real visible work done for the first drop; where progress on Grizzly is still essentially the same as the photo I posted earlier, back on 1/21.

Aside from reconstructing the tunnel - where I truly hope the tunnel comes back - that first drop seems to be one of the last major pieces to complete. So chances are they've likely been working from the footers-up (vs from the top-down), and their progress is not yet visible.

Hopefully though we can start to see some visible progress this coming weekend.

Anybody see some visible progress this past weekend??? 😅

I believe it was @Zachary that had the run in with security. By time I got to the park - the train was already back in brakes and they stopped caring. But, maybe I was just better at not getting caught because I snapped pictures while security was surrounding WindSeeker when they brought a crane in for repairs. 🤣

At the park today, re-track progress on Grizzly's first drop is now visible:

And though harder to see from this photo - the segment back up, after the drop, looks complete, with fresh new wood:

Thanks for the photos! It's like seeing an old friend who's finally committedly sober after many years of substance abuse

Looking at the photo they posted of the fan turn, it looks like some of the trees there were spared; seems like most of the ones closest to the track were removed. Given that some of the trees were left standing, I wonder what the reasoning behind the decision was? Did they bring in a bunch of big equipment that necessitated the removal of the trees? Did they have to re-run the cable supports that penetrated into that little patch of forest, requiring them to remove the trees in the way? Did CF pull a Herschend and get skittish about big trees being too close to the track?

In any case, I hope they replant something where those trees were. I'm glad some of the trees there were left standing, though.

It’s not a full retract; however, most problem areas are being taken care of. The final return trip isn’t being touched, but that area wasn’t ever really an issue. Appears the “Shaky Turnaround” is getting some adjustments to its exit banking which is well appreciated.

The pre lift, brake runs, and both flat turnarounds also shouldn’t see a change at all. The entry into some drops isn’t being touched either.
