Yeah after a few back car rides on Grizzly in the back seat, Grizzly is really starting to grow on me with its place in the lineup. The sequence between the first turnaround and the brakes is honestly way more bonkers than I’ve ever realized when riding in the back car. The airtime hill before the tunnel pretty much makes me concerned about potential decapitation, then the extra airtime hill inside the tunnel also concerns my with that issue.

I rode it back to back with Racer 75 in the back car and I really finally noticed how much wilder Grizzly is than Racer 75. It might have become a ride I try to hit each visit with how bonkers the back car is.

It’s a shame paramount and Cedar Fair removed almost all the trees around this coaster. That was half of its attraction and it was once a night ride similar (but shorter) to the Beast.

The layout is good but that hill right before the tunnel is violent. Keg bruising violent.

I wish parks would start retracting their rough wooden coasters with rmc type track and retain the original layout. No inversions. No weird unnatural hills. Just a smooth fast ride with a wooden coaster layout.

I think it’s referring to how when hurler was there, there were more trees surrounding grizzly on the side facing the park. Just my guess though.
Yes. The coaster was entirely surrounded by trees originally.

Also Cedar Fair whacked down all the trees inside the turn around after the first drop.

Often tree removal about costs, especially around coasters. Constantly trimming and hoping not to damage the coaster is very costly vs just taking them out. The people at Lake Compounce have talked in the past how much of a pain that Boulder Dash can be because of the need to have people walk the track and keep the ride envelope clean regularly.

I’m confused. The area around Grizzly is wooded.
When it first opened in 1982 it was surrounded by trees and the early evening and night rides were amazing. I remember going back to KD in the mid 90's and being disappointed by how many trees were cut down to make way for hurler and other attractions and how exposed Grizzly was. It's partly in the forest now but imagine where TT is all forest and you can get an idea of what is was like when it first opened.

Yes. I am aware of what the area around Grizzly has looked like over the years. I was responding to this snarky and wild overstatement, which appears to be just another attempt to tear down KD:

”It’s a shame paramount and Cedar Fair removed almost all the trees around this coaster.”

Their removing some trees over time is not in any way the same as “almost all.”

Perhaps the endless negativity has just grown tiresome.

Looking at the picture, everything from the purple buildings down to TT used to be dense woods. I don't think two or three trees left standing constitutes being a wooded area which basically exposes almost half of the coaster on one side. I rode it this past weekend and couldn't help noticing how open that whole side of the coaster is. Being completely surrounded by woods when it first opened gave it a really nice ambience you don't find on most coasters built out in the open.

I don’t care what you think it doesn’t change my opinion lol KD is a mismanaged crap hole. Cedar Fair is going to Geauga Lake it. They can’t keep it open enough to be profitable.

You clearly don't understand the dynamics of what happened with Geauga Lake. It seems like GL is just a buzz word now and people use it without any full understanding of what really happened at that park.

You're welcome to your own opinions, not your own 'facts'.

Keep your bodily appendages in the ride vehicle and get the hell outta here on the troller-coaster

I literally have no idea what that sentence is supposed to mean. It appears to be in English?

BTW, I want to be clear. The comments I responded to have been completely replaced.

That said, the new post appears to have nothing to do with my post, which he is quoting.

So, I am equally confused.

Wait then why did they just invest in a new ride and why are they spending fairly large sums of money on a massive retheme of what is probably about 25% of the park?
