My kids refuse to ride Grizzly with me since I filmed this :(
Update: brought my little one (8yo) to the park last weekend who has been refusing to ride any roller coaster for the past year because they "hurt her hips".

For some reason she got adventurous after giving Apple Zapple a chance and ended up riding Grizzly 3 times in a row screaming "I LoVe ThiS RidE!!!" the whole time.

My oldest one was begging for mercy though.

I rode it yesterday fir the first timethis year and was really pleased with how much it has improved. The train seats are still uncomfortable.

I rode it 3 times in a row without getting off when I was there this year. Next to last row. It was awesome. But this is another coaster that my son and nephew have declared too rough this year. It is bumpy for sure, but it's got so much character and it's so fun. Feels like it's going to go off the rails and I love it.

Maintenance keeps all of their tools/ spare parts underneath the station. Also, the maintenance guys have their own tools that they will bring around with them via park trucks (usually) to each of the rides. The bay that you see may have a roof, but water still gets in. Below the track, there is enough room for a maintenance worker to have enough room to stand up, but the "pit" will flood if it rains hard enough. So it's not an ideal place to store stuff.

If Grizzly used the PTC buzzbars instead of the ratchets you'd be hopping the seat divider on that hill, it's that insane. The only other ride I know that has done that to me is Phoenix at Knoebels.
You better get down to Myrtle Beach’s Family Kingdom… they’ve got a 1966 PTC Woodie called Swamp Fox that dethroned Twisted Timbers as my number one.

Today (3/27/22) Grizzly celebrates its 40th birthday.

So occasionally during dispatch of the trains today, the ride operator would announce a message about the original 3/27/82 opening. And behind the operator, they had balloons and a Happy Birthday sign; which was a nice touch:

Not sure if the Grizzly knew today was a big milestone birthday - and was deciding to go all-out - but it seemed to be running very rough and fast today; rougher than on previous weekends this season (if that's possible 😉). But yet, still a fun coaster!

I typically ride in the last car. I pick the tow with the shorter of the two lines
