I got to ride this morning, had a noticable bump coming out of the helix after the mid-course tunnel. Was this a result of wood going bad or just a random occurrence?
At last! Evidence of @Pretzel Kaiser’s robotic deer theory. Now we know for sure they are connected to the roller coasters. The only question is how deep the conspiracy goes.
Yeah, I was going to ask that exact question, when the guy next to me, Cy, asked it. I was a little annoyed that I didn't get my moment of fame! Haha. It didn't sound like this was likely to happen this offseason. Hopefully they get to it in the next one.
I say this unironically: Grizzly is the best ride in the park. At least at night. Sure it's bumpy, but a night ride on it is crazy fun. If I compare them on the coaster that had me vocally exclaiming joy and surprise the most during the ride, it won easily. So while I do want them to do some track work, I sure don't want them to reprofile it. Don't gimp it. Keep Grizzly wild! To be fair, my friend who was next to me still absolutely hates it. Sigh.
Here’s a good news/bad news situation for all you Grizzly fans out there.
Grizzly is not slated to operate during the first part of Kings Dominion’s 2020 season. The coaster will apparently be undergoing some pretty substantial trackwork throughout this spring. The current completion estimates I’ve heard place a reopening sometime before the end of May, but it’s too early to know for sure how things will actually work out as we get closer.
