I wonder if Cedar Fair will move Thunder Road's newly refurbished trains to one of the chain's other racing woodies. Rebel Yell perhaps...?

Back when I worked on the Rebel Yell (Taft/Family Leisure/KECO ownership years), the coaster cars were re-upholstered in-house. The park did not send the cushions to PTC. KD did the work themselves. Course, what happened under Paramount and now under Cedar Fair ownership is another question.
According to John-Michael Leonard on Facebook, Grizzly is being retracked for 2016! Looks like track work on the first drop is well underway.
Indeed they are- Grizzly delivers some of the best night rides. Its seclusion in the backwoods of the park means part of the right really takes place in pitch darkness. I just wish they'd turn off the big spotlight around the first turnaround; it ruins the feeling of being totally isolated.
He mentions in the comments that KD chooses the worst section of the coaster to rebuild/retrack each year. He called this drop section 'loose' and they are tightening it up. The whole coaster is not being retracked unfortunately.
Sweet! Going to get my first ride ever on it this spring. My brother always loved this coaster when we were growing up. I never had the nerve enough to ride as a kid.
I remember when I was a kid and still scared of roller coasters I thought the Grizzly was the tallest roller coaster in the world. That is until Anaconda was built (Kids Ha). Completely secluded in the woods back then, the ride was a complete mystery. Then you ride it. Always loved this ride to death, especially at night.

Even today, night rides are amazing. From the back turn you get the most amazing view of the park.
