What do you mean? In what way was Anaconda not really part of Congo? And if Congo ended at Kilimanjaro (which technically isn’t even true based on park maps labeling FOF as part of Congo), that would still include BLSC. It’s smack in the middle of the area.
I'm saying that during the Paramount Era, they were clearly not interested in calling the part of the park south of Kilimanjaro part of Congo, or they wouldn't have added BLSC and FOF. Was it part of Safari Village? sure. But Paramount wasn't all that interested in sub zone theming.

I don’t think that’s right. For one thing, I think it’s a stretch to consider the area stretching from BLSC to FOF a “sub zone.” BLSC was built directly behind Tomb Raider Grill, which was clearly tied to the Congo theme, and it replaced Diamond Falls, which also was clearly part of the themed area. Anaconda has vaguely “African” symbols on its entry sign that mirror those that were inside Tomb Raider Grill. The music playing by these attractions was always the main Congo area soundtrack. The restaurant directly next to Anaconda’s exit, now Chicken Shack, was called Congo Grill. And to top it all off, one of the games in this supposed “sub zone” was called Congo Baskets.

I think it’s reasonable to claim that FOF (and later I305) fall into a sub zone distinct from the rest of the area, since they’re separated by a narrow path and a gate, never had any visual or thematic ties to Congo, and had a separate soundtrack. But I don’t think that argument remotely applies to Anaconda and BLSC, which were both located cleanly within the main part of the area.

Find it a bit weird that they didn't pull the go karts out of the track during the off season and they're just sitting there like that.
I was at a place with a high speed go-kart for a racing school and someone asked how they do maintenance and what they do with weather. Basic answer we got is they are made to withstand any weather conditions because the harshness of what they are built to do is far more than anything nature can throw at it. There's no power steering, power breaks, suspension, or anything like that. It's basically a seat, metal frame, engine. So there's not many hydraulics or anything of that nature to have to take care of. Secondly the ground clearance on them is so small that often sitting them on anything other than the track can be harmful and bend the frame with enough force. Carts have their own cart (no pun intended) that they sit on to do any maintenance to them, and they go on that cart to be moved around.

Most places actually leave them out.

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread. With all the attention focused on Jungle-X and Rapterra for next year, any ideas or predictions when or what will replace Grand Prix?

I’ve heard “B&M Hyper” rumors. Unsure if that’s the plan. I’ve heard the park wants something visible from 95 but unsure if what I’ve heard is just speculation. I could see that within the realm of possibility personally.

Note, this doesn’t mean I’m saying “I specifically want that, its at top of my list for best possible projects” as personally I’d love to see us get US Hyperia instead.

The park already has several buildings that are visible from 95 I question if a hyper in that location would actually lead to any more visibility. Fi that is the goal the I would think something closer to the front of the park where the ground is higher would be more likely rather back in old Virginia.

Yeah I’m definitely thinking hyper, for personal reasons and It just makes too much sense. Either B&M or Vekoma.

There’s a difference between straining your neck to see something you know is there vs having a coaster that the massive amount of cars that pass through the area that may not know there’s a park there can easily see and want to ride.

Afaik, there's a maintenance road, strip of trees, extension of the main road, and another stand of trees separating Old Dominion from I-95's sight: 37°50'16.8"N 77°26'56.6"W

Does anyone know of any ordinances or changes of ownership that'd prevent them from building anything that'd cross over the roads and be visible either through the trees next to the road or replace them?
