Geez El Toro stealing the no. 1 spot from the Voyage after 5 years; that's pretty huge. Sadly, I cant judge since I've only ridden El Toro, but still it seems like in the past, no matter where you went, The Voyage was better than El Toro. Then again, this is the Golden Tickets...

Riding Voyage next year, will get back to you on that...

For all the enthusiasts I've interacted with they've all put El Toro at #2, #3, or lower (still in top 10). The two most common coasters that have topped Toro were Voyage and Phoenix, which imo Phoenix beats El Toro 8 days a week. I'm not dismissing El Toro as a bad coaster per se, it's still great, just the gallery I've interacted with would love to burn this whole system to the ground.

LONG LIVE HAWKER!

I always believed all of BGW's coaster ended up in the top 25 coasters, what happened? OH yeah, half the voters skipped BGW this year :p

I feel like the votes were slanted towards Dollywood since they won 1st place in 5 categories, which they usually only win one or two

The best new ride award was definitely biased. They usually are always there for best shows, friendliest staff, and best food. They're also traditionally very good with shows too, but they didn't win that. Legit loling at best Christmas event though, that shouldn't even be voted on...

Or maybe the majority of voters came to BGW only to find Verbolten broke down, thus being unable to rate it!!!

Ha, it better not have. I agree with i305 being up there. I know you guys hate it, but it's a damn good ride.

Its my favorite coaster! Don't understand hate..... ANYWAYS, these are so messed up. All of the rankings are super jank.

Ride more coasters and maybe then you can see why most of us don't like i305. Carter is a thrill junkie, his idea of the perfect coaster is a lot of forces all the time. Where as most of us will kindly take a step back from that (although I'm not too far behind him). He also isn't a panzy and knows when a coaster is too rough (Mean Streak!), compared to a little bit of rattling.

My best way of explaining it is with a line. I like rides that deliver a lot of force, but not too much to the point where it gets physically tasking just to re-ride it 3-4 times. If i305 cut back on the constant forces just a little bit I might like it more, but as it stands it's just too much for me. So naturally it would be over my limits. I like rides that get as close to that line as possible, essentially being my version of perfect. I don't mind rides that go a little over the line (El Toro), and there are plenty that get close to the line without crossing it (Nitro, Phoenix, Kumba, etc.). Currently my idea of the perfect steel coaster is something like Nitro or Kumba. I haven't ridden Kumba in 6 years so I don't know if it's changed, but it supplies a good deal of force, and is plenty reridable without getting boring. Nitro also fits the same mold, just without the inversions (;)).

^Ever occurred that I like things that scare the crap out of me and have tons of forces just like Carter? That is what I love about I305. Its an insane jumble of forces that DON'T LET UP until the brakes. On the other hand, Verbolten is my second favorite because it is just fun, not intense but is a great ride. I like ALL kinds of coasters, fun, insanely intense, in between. I don't care if others consider it too intense, shorter lines for me.

I think the Hulk is TERRIBLY overrated.

That it is. Each IoA trip now I bypass it. No reason to hop on it again. Once was terrible... I mean enough.

I love the hulk, sure it's not the fastest or most intense, and it gets a little more credit than it deserves. it can be a little rough but It beats out every Disney world coaster except space mountain(yes even expedition Everest)

I don't see how it's overrated, it launches you 3/4 up the hill, and reaches 70 mph. I wish we had one like it at bg :/

^I personally loved Expedition Everest for it's overall fun experience and at some points intense Gs! Haven't been on Hulk so I can't compare.

I've never been on Expedition Everest but from what I've seen on video, It's Big thunder with a mount Everest theme. Disney needs to be a little more unique with their coasters besides strictly family ones, put a few bigger ones in one of the parks. we should probably move this discussion to the best ride of all time thread in general discussion.

It isn't as similar as you might think. It's much more dynamic and thrilling then Thunder Mountain Railroad. Don't judge a ride when you haven't been on it.

Ding. It's not the most intense ride out there but it's a lot different from Thunder Mountain.

And taking the needless jab again, I still don't get the hype with Hulk when the only thing different about it is a launch compared to other B&Ms. Compared to every other B&M it has the roughness of Hydra and the most boring second half of an inverting roller coaster I have ever experienced. I really could fall asleep after the wraparound the lift hill if it wasn't for the roughness (and that absolutely horrible transition into the corkscrew, it's worse than Alpie's MCBR!).

I haven't rode it in 5 years, so maybe age has changed it a little. But I don't recall it being very rough
