I don't see prices changing for a while. If they do this it won't happen until the middle of the season the latest and the ones who have 2 year passes won't see the Howl - o - Scream up charge, but they will see Christmas Town up charge until they renew their pass.

Well if you raise the price of the Fun Card, it looses its appeal. Pay for a day and come back all [insert specific season of the year].

pay for a day and come back til this time next year for $40-50 more! (plus free parking!)
This is even better for people on a small 2 to 3 day vacation to the Williamsburg area. It also gives them more bang for their buck.

On kind of a fun note since this thread has been ignored, what does everyone think the image on the front of the card will be this year? Mine is the 2 year pass so I have the Worlds of Discovery logo with all of the parks' logos. I'm hoping this year they might do a picture of Apollo's since I've never seen that on any pass before. And it's a given they'll put Verbolten on the front soooooo, ideas?

Since last year's was Mach Tower, I would assume Verbolten would be featured. It's a good way to advertise the newest attractions at the park.

I recently got a platinum pass, other than admission to all parks, what perks do you get in BGW. They had "ride again" and reserved seating at SWO. Same thing here?

Nope. Basically the only platinum perks for BGW are free prefered parking and the ability to use the employee entrance.

They need to do something to make the passes worthwhile. I noticed the park was having some funding issues as we've discussed elsewhere, and I had this crazy idea where, instead of paying once and getting in all summer for free, you paid once and got in one time. Then if you came back, and bought a new ticket, you got in another time. And so forth.

In order to facilitate this, they need to either (a) lower this price of this new ticket (which I'm calling a "single day ticket") to an amount less than $70 or (b) keep the initial ticket at $70, then subsequent visits become cheaper.

In all seriousness, right now, unless you go a lot, the season pass may not seem worth it. If they want to sell more passes, the fun card promotion (do they still call it that? Can it really be considered a promotion if it's been going on for like 5 years?) has to go.

The Fun Card is more of a multi-day ticket and not a special offer.

Honestly, admission makes them no money compared to what they sell on the inside. Plus, a lot of people that go to BGW are Fun Card Holders or Pass Holders and there aren't as many single day tickets sold as you might think.

The pass pays for itself after 3 days of visits at the park.

That's exactly what I'm saying...everybody gets in free. I understand the idea behind it. If you let them in free, they'll keep coming back and spending money. But part of pricing tickets as a business is figuring out a price point (above $0) that people will pay and keep coming.

But this whole discussion is about season passes, and my point regarding that is just that most people (especially families, with kids) are probably thinking "I only go in the summer...why would I fork out the extra for the season passes?"

As an example, I know two mothers who have one season pass for themselves (for the parking) and then everyone else in the family just has fun cards. So I'm really just trying to think of a way that you could encourage families to all get passes.

The Fun Card is too affordable, I think, while single day admission (non-existent for Virginians) would theoretically be way too high at $70/day to encourage repeat business.

What would be a reasonable price for a one-day ticket that would also spur people to spring for the pass, you think?

Could you elaborate a bit more on using the employee entrance? I never knew about that.

It would be interesting to see what the actual percentage of annual pass holders, fun pass holders and daily ticket sales are on an average weekday during the summer. Then compare that to Howl O Scream and Christmas Town. Just wondering??

As I've stated before there are more perks for the SWO and BGT Platinum Passes because of the stiff competition from Disney and Universal. They have to use those as a selling point where as BGW doesn't have competition like that close by.
