Really, man? Not to call you out, but I just wanted to remind you that you're getting "upset" over website logos. There are bigger things in the world to get upset about. ;) Like a Banbury Cross retheme... [/justkidding]

I am very upset, none of the logos are really themed. By logos I am referring to the BGWFans, KDFans, and BGTFans that are at the top of the forums. They are all basically the same as all year long. I think they should be changed to match the season. Like what about replacing the Big Ben with a rose with an eyeball?

Sorry to inform you of this, but artwork isn't free. If it's as important as the beginning of your post would seem to imply, by all means, let us know where we can send the bill.

Ooh! That gives me an idea! We should make the Busch Gardens Williamsburg logo a dollar bill that's on fire for Howl-O-Scream! It fits the Demon Street theme, and is very fitting for both the logo situation and the park's current budget situation!

As an extra note.... The apps Chris and myself work on would by no means be cheap to get either. I know from my full-time job, you could expect an app of the current scale to be at least $250k PER PLATFORM. That's just to get the initial release out the door. That doesn't include incremental updates, or adding info for special events, etc.

Which brings me to my last point. One of the reasons ParksFans has gotten where it has (IMO) is because of the people in the community. We seem to have a very diverse community here, one that brings a lot of different skills together. Whether it's Zachary with his writing/photograpy/etc, and Gavin with managing the site, othere's in the past around here has great social media skills (some that im sure we picked up on), Chris and myself with the apps, and the list goes on (Sorry to those I didn't meantion, jut couldnt think of you at the time :p).

I can't give you too much crap though PR for this one. You just haven't experience/handled it first hand to really understand how much all this can cost, and the levels of time it takes to manage. Just understand everyone involved wants to do as much as they can.

First off, I wasn't that disappointed. Just was expecting more. Also, I choose to nitpick on this over the Banbury Cross retheme because I don't want to dare touch something that I know will get me burned to a crisp.

With that, I wasn't trying to start a whole debate. David, I've actually done a lot of research for the cost of making apps, I've been interested in making my own as soon as I can think of an app idea to do :p But I know it is expensive and can be time consuming which is why I haven't done it yet. I also have looked into site management, and I did try graphic artwork a bit back. I believe I tried to create a t-shirt for BGWFans related to Glow Stands, but the point is I have looked at everything and I choose to do nothing because I know the hard work behind it that I know I couldn't handle it with all the other things I have my mind set on.

You guys do a great job as is, it was a simple suggestion that I was hoping would come to fruition, but obviously it didn't so oh well. Hopefully something to think about in the future if money and work permits it.

I know you guys are already occupied with other forum stuff, but I thought I would suggest this anyway.

Now I'm sure this isn't going to be your top concerns, but I thought it would be a good idea. Instead of having WCUSA, and Adeventure Island, as separate forums away from BGW's and BGT's main forum, I just thought you could make a sub-forum for them in the BGW, and BGT forums. It would make it a lot easier to just click on the WCUSA/Adventure Island forums while you're looking at the BGW, and BGT forums, instead of having to go to another forum, and click on them as a sub-forum there. I really hope you do this, after all they are "Busch Gardens' waterparks." Also, it would just relieve the hassle of going to a whole other forum to find them. I really hope you would take this idea into consideration.:)

Its been brought up before and we decided against it. They are separate parks from Busch Gardens even if they are "Busch Gardens' Water Park." The way the boards are setup wouldn't really work at this time. Perhaps if we change forum software in the future we could do this but it would create to much layering in the park specific boards.

How about a "Serious Discussion" section where people can serious conversations about the park that's free from spam or other silly posts? Some people like writing paragraphs about the park.

I know this may not be an extremely desirable suggestion, but I just felt like voicing some opinion here. I feel that everyone should get a relatively fair amount of rep to give per person.

It's not exactly fair for someone to be able to give only +1 rep and another able to give +10 rep. If anything, I believe you only need +1 for forum members, and +2 for forum staff. No more, no less. It just seems ridiculous and slightly biased to allow certain people the ability to give away large amounts of rep to one person.

I'm not complaining or anything, I just thought I'd bring it up since I really don't understand the Rep Scale.

From my understanding it goes like this:
Regular users: Can give max + 1
Moderators: Can give max +2(?)
Park Managers: Can give max +3
Administrators: Can give max +4

I think the forum needs /something/ because as it stands right now, the forums are a mess. There are two groups of people I've noticed, people who like to make long posts about the park full of thoughts and opinions, and another who are more interested in socializing with other forum members. A thread with a mix of those posts kills the conversation very quickly.

This!

I totally agree, conversation has gone down dramatically lately. Before, I could come on the site and always see new posts, now I'd be lucky to come on and find 3 or more threads with new posts. Totally true.

Hmm, I wonder which group I'm in... :p

I think what you're saying is true, PK, but it isn't necessarily a problem. I know for me, personally, I oscillate between serious, long-winded intellection and lighthearted "anything goes" humor. There's no telling when I'll switch between these modes, and it happens instantaneously. There are times when I'll insert a quick joke in the middle of a serious thread, people might laugh at it (or disdainfully ignore it), and then move on with the discussion.

For the most part, it seems to me that the more humorous, social threads are separate from the serious ones. I think the only problem occurs when there are two clearly distinct conversations being had in a thread in which one group is mostly socializing and the other is attempting to have a more cogent discussion. This is, however, only mildly annoying to me, and moderation can be used in more flagrant situations. I'm not sure what else can really be done.

Of course, if you have suggestions, I think we'd all listen.

This is what I'm talking about happening a lot. I'm seeing where there are cases of this killing a legitimate conversation. The suggestion I gave to Zach is label system where the topic creator can potentially put a "serious" tag in front of a post, like what Reddit does. These threads will be moderated more heavily than normal threads so that posts that are only one off jokes and don't actually contribute anything to the conversation (one line sarcastic remarks, off topic posts, ect). This will set zones designed to make conversation prosper. If the staff wanted to do a rant section, that would work as well so the people who like to make those posts (I'm guilty of it, I admit) don't feel left out.
