Don't know if I'm late to the party but looks like menus are posted!

Nope, those are just last year's menus. This year's have not been posted yet.

Oh huh, for some reason those just started showing up for me today so I thought it was this year's... maybe it's because I'm on my phone.

Rhetorical question: why on earth do they call it a "food and wine" festival, when they really mostly serve beer and cocktails?  This nomenclature has always confused me, and honestly this idea just makes it worse (if we assume the abscure comment, "scotch bar" refers to liquor).

I really would prefer if they brought in a wide variety of good wines (even some Virginia wines) and paired them with each dish.  Honestly, I have never been excited by most of the generic wine they do bother to serve.

I guess because it sounds more sophisticated than the following options: Food and Alcohol Festival, Food and Beer Festival, Food and Cocktails Festival.

I suppose beer and other alcohol is more prominent in this festival because most of Europe(which is the theme they originally started with) is very diverse in the preferation of type of alcohol based on country.

But I agree, they should focus a little more on wine in the event, it's kind of false advertising at this point.

(And this is all coming from and underaged teenager :p)

There are many tasty VA Wines, particularly in and around C-Ville. It is notable that there is one near Bleaksburg... But only one.

The Food & Wine Festival is arguably becoming one of the best park events. It has been so popular King’s Dominion seems to be taking a shot at it this year. The best thing about this event is we are seeing steady improvements each year. Last year we saw the addition of two new booths.

This year we see the addition of one booth and a replacement. The park will be featuring Eastern Asia and the French Quarter as their newest booths. Their locations hadn’t been known until now. Eastern Asia will be located across from the Festa Italia Bridge. This will be within the star circle with the tree in the center. The location is appropriate considering Festa Italia is based on Marco Polo’s journey which led him to Asia and back to Italy.

The French Quarter will be replacing the previous Belgium booth. It’s location was more easily hypothesized considering the French Quarter would probably be located in France. However, this isn’t the only change in Aquitaine. In fact, the France booth is being move to it’s own stand alone booth near the remote controlled monster trucks in France.

The France booth will feature the same menu as it has before. However, the menu for the other booths will be quite interesting. Between both booths, they will feature gumbo, tofu, sandwiches, and more. The items don’t sound appetizing at first, but I am sure they will add a new diverse flavor to the park’s festival.

The park has also been featuring wine tastings throughout the park. This year, there will be a new addition to the tastings. The Tastes of Scotch will take place in Scotland near Tweedside Gifts. You will, of course, be tasting various scotches instead of wines. It may become a more permanent addition to the park like the wine tastings, or it may only be just for the Food & Wine Festival.

I can't wait to see how they designed the kiosks. I would love to see concept art for the other kiosks. As far as design, my favorite kiosks are the Caribbean and Southwestern America. The detail on them is just so amazing.

The Southwestern America kiosk had a chimney with smoke coming out of it. They also had a beautiful cactus garden next to the façade. The Caribbean kiosk was also impressive. It was adorned with seashells to create shapes such as seahorses. Of course, the lighthouse on top was especially cool.

I want them to use all of the effort that went into designing those kiosks to create truly fantastic façades for Howl-O-Scream. They have proven that they are capable of doing such a feat.

On passholder day I really enjoyed the Banh Mi sandwich, even served cold. I understand why Chef Justin dropped kimchi since the kitchen had to simulate the fermentation process. It was still tasty. I was hoping for beignets for the French Quarter dessert option, but they are labor intensive and must be served immediately. "Vanilla and pecan-crusted cheesecake with orange-rum caramel sauce
and sliced banana" sounds like a mighty fine alternative!
