This! I came upon it like the monkeys in 2001 A Space Odyssey. It was like finding THE MONOLITH!! I just stared; not sure what to think or do. Poked and prodded it. Nothing. VERY RANDOM.

It's either that or something from Istanbul. Very... phallic. Reminds of a Mermaid for some reason.

Interestingly enough, there are two tomato plants growing near the France menu sign behind it.

Uhh, what happened? I deleted a draft and it messed up my post and images?

They are seen everywhere in Paris. They usually display information, so technically they fit wonderfully. Give me a second to find a picture of them. The color is ehh, but I mean its right next to Pepto Tower, so they match. They're usually painted dark green and plastered with flyers.

Google says they're simply called Street Poles, however I'm pretty sure there's an actual name.

The poles are still like the cover of THE LITTLE MERMAID.

That would be it.

It's pretty clear.

So, this "pole" will probably be "wrapped" in a protective sheath of informative reading material or Paul Newman's face at some point in the near future?

Oh God, Paul Newman.

And I would presume so. Actually, if you go to the Crepes and Coffee Cafe you can see a loose twin of this street-flyer-pole. That triangular board showcasing different things about the F&W Festival was inspired by the same thing, or at least it seems that way.

Yes it is working now. That purple thing looks somewhat horrid and it is only because of the color. Could they not have made it something more blending-in-ish.
