I find it very interesting how the park is reusing current snack stand and such to save money instead of building booths everywhere. Very sneaky :p

Based on this info it appears to be a way of forcing people's hands from getting the typical snack stand food to the Food and Wine Festival stuff. Very interesting...

I just see it as a money saving technique. Turn the small already themed snack stands into booths to save money. You just need a new menu practically.

Getting those popcorn & churros just became a treasure hunt then, yeah? ;P I actually had a hard time finding a place to refill my popcorn cup today.

And I did wonder why 20,000 people decided to show up today & ruin my perception of rain = no crowds....lol

Kind of breezed through Italy on our way to Germany today. When we got there around 11, Pigs in a kilt still wasn't open & neither were some of the carts that usually sell that stuff. No matter. I got my pretzel sausage today. I will never eat another corn dog again. hahaha

Well since the tastings are $3-$7 - you could say that the Food & Wine festival is actually saving people money as many of the "snacks" at the snack stands cost more than that or about the same.

Personally I prefer the park to save money now, so they can make the event bigger each year.

Start small and start smart.

You're using smart, thought out logic here on the forums. Stop that.

To be honest, even if you get two plates at $7, that's a decent price for a meal at the park.

Just so you all know... I was told at the Wine Tasting booth at both France and Germany that once you take a wine tasting (the $14.95 gift shop tasting in either France, Germany, or Italy where you get a souvenir glass) that you can take this glass to any other of the $14.95 wine tastings and get the price reduced. Don't quote me but I think it was $6.95. This is a great deal, and one I plan on taking advantage of in the future.

So, in my flyer it said they have 20 minute tastings, blah blah blah. I know when I did the tasting a while ago in italy, they gave me 3 tasting sized wines and i got my cup. It lasted about 5-7 minutes. Does anyone know if thi is going to be pretty much the same thing?

I think they give 20 minutes as an average so no one feels rushed. If you are with me for a wine tasting- it will be about 20 minutes because I slowly sample the wine, take notes, and ask tons of questions.

Also, this year there is a new format. Starting this past weekend the park have official "Wine experts" that are assigned to the tasting areas as last year they were gift shop employees. The folks who are handling the tastings are well versed in the wines and discuss them more with you. There are also four wines per "tasting" including the glass and FYI: Season pass discounts apply! Woot!

I had a blast this year at the France tasting and German wine tasting. I have yet to try the new Bella Casa wine tasting format; but as soon as I do- I will make sure to write a full review.

Just to restate a previous comment. The tastings I am discussing are not part of the Food & Wine Festival; but are the areas designated in Gift Shops and also where you may purchase a entire bottle of wine. (Bella Casa, German Gifts, and Le Belle).

The park has really been listening. Just a little tid bit, someone get pictures of France this weekend and look to the sky.

Told ya. ::sigh:: Anyway, call it my "sixth sense," but I just knew there was more to be done. :) Can't wait to see the new additions this weekend.

Actually, I think quite a bit of the work is solely for the Food & Wine Festival while there is still just a few little odds and ends being done for the actual village decor.
