What I meant when I said events running together; Food & Wine could run on say week days where as Summer Nights could run on weekends. That way the events are still very much separate but have the same time frame in the year. This idea may be worthwhile if they reopened close to the Food & Wine time frame. However, as this extends well past that into summer, it might be a lost cause.

That's what I initially suggested but I think it's more likely that food and wine took over the weekends and Summer nights was during the week.

This may not come to fruition now (I think everyone understands everything is up in the air).. but I was poking around last night and saw that BGW put in a permit for new electrical work for a Jalisco kiosk:

Description 2020 F&W Jalisco Kiosk - installed in same location as 2019 Germany Village

IDEA:
BGW should do Food and Wine as a small group "guided tour" around the park. Groups of 10. Setup outdoor bistro tables at each stand. Each grouping goes every 20 minutes with a "tour guide" that takes them around the park. Stop at each station, get a sample of a drink and dish, sit while a chef explains it to you, move onto the next station. Give about 10-15 minutes a stop, and it gives about 5-10 minutes between groups to sanitize the seats. Serve everything on paper plates with plastic silverware so it can just be thrown out. Other than going around as part of one of these groups, the park is closed.

I'll add to that - separate animals tour, including the new stables

I thought of that, and a beer tour. They could honestly do like 4-5 different things. But they can't do it all at the same time.

I think if they did this for a month, Th-Su, 10a-7p, they could do well for themselves. Then switch it to another style the next month. I think charging for an animal tour is hard when so many zoo's are doing free webcam watching. Yea maybe you could do more with a trainer teaching about the animals, but it would be a tough sell.

I thought they already had a Mexican kiosk. Jalisco is just a region of Mexican food.

Right. They definitely have a Mexican kiosk. But it's by Nessie. This sounds like a separate kiosk dedicated to just Jalisco region located in Germany.

It likely would have just been a relocated and refreshed Mexico booth similar to the Asia -> Japan booth transition from a few years back.

The Mexico booth was located in Italy where the wine grapes photo op is located. The booth by Nessie I believe was a relocated Southwest booth.

Along with what Zachary said, they may be breaking the more general booths down into their smaller parts.

I believe you're both correct, just in different years. A few years ago, maybe 3-4-ish, there definitely was a Mexico booth in Italy by the wine stomp photo op wagon. [Edit: no there wasn't, see my follow-up post below and revel in my shame.]

Shamefully, I will admit I remember this because the cultural ambassador working the front line area of that very booth at the time was stunningly beautiful. Gorgeous. She was almost as beautiful as my wife, from whom my imaginings did not stray for even one fleeting moment as I took a bit too long to chat with this effortlessly engaging and doe-eyed beguiling vision from Mexico. The setting was unquestionably San Marco, as I can hardly forget where I was when I once again laid eyes on my wife and forgot entirely about the arresting visage of this lineal descendant of the Mayans' own Helen herself, Ix Naah Ek’.

Probably my favorite booth that year.

Ah, I didn't go during 2019. It seemed they not only moved the booth for that year, but also made it look like cheap garbage.

Regardless of what it looked like, it had the shrimp taco. And that's all anyone needs.

I couldn’t believe it at first, but that probably stole the number one spot from Venera con Jamon (ham wrapped scallop) as my favorite Food and Wine Festival dish of all time.

Does anyone know what type of sauce they used? I could probably make a decent replica if I knew about the sauce.

I believe you’re thinking of the Spain booth which was located in Italy.
OH MY GOD, you are absolutely correct. It was indeed Spain.

And the lovely cultural representative must therefore have been a direct lineal descendant of the beautiful Isabella, not Ix Naah Ek’. ?

This explains so much... my conflicting memories of speaking entranced and quite elementary Spanish, yet eating nothing that seemed to have anything to do with Mexico... her distinctly not-Mexican attire, which I attributed to my own lack of knowledge of regional history. Ironic that I apparently reached an accurate conclusion about my own cultural inadequacy, but for the wrong reasons.

This is so embarrassing. Genuinely. ?
