Have you been on it lately? It beats the snot out of you. It's gotten really rough. It's not nearly as smooth as it used to be.

Hmm, yes I have. March, May, August, and December 2011 as well as January of this year. Did not beat the snot of me even the slightest bit. In fact it felt a lot better than in 09/10.

It's is the corscrew hill set up with a soarin video. The main difference I would say i seating, and a few other things but it's mostly the same concept.

Also, the fact that the movements on the screen don't feel like they sync up with the movements of the "air sled."

EITA is more of a motion simulator with a Soarin' theme. I experienced it last summer and I thought it was pretty average at best. I did love the blasts of air from the fans, and the video was nice, but that's really about it.

Corkscrew Hill had more of a story and was more entertaining to ride.

^^I never got a chance to get on Corkscrew Hill so that doesn't really help me.

Well here's the ride in it's entirety:

I really wish they would've just updated the ride like Universal did with Spider-Man. Brand new all-digital 4K projectors, the new 3D glasses, new sound system and brand new realistic animation. After all, both rides were animated by the same company and it's the animation that was making the ride seem dated. The story and characters were still fun as ever and fitted perfectly with the Ireland location. Randomly selected scenes like Star Tours would've increased the number of riders too.

Or what if they reworked the story and the simulator was put inside a smaller 3D 360 dome theater. Your senses would be going crazy and I'm sure it would be a crowd pleaser. Has this been done before?

Who knows, maybe we'll see it return in some form, as it seems the current show is generally disliked or at least it is on these boards. Does anyone know the numbers for Europe and how they stack up to Corkscrew?

Europe in the Air is one of the worst attractions I have ever been on. It was absolutely dire. Words don't even describe. But I'll try...

The thing that rages me the most is the terrible stock video. There's even static shots in some of the scenes, and the camera just zooms and pans amongst them. There's no reason to any of it, no story, no connectivity between scenes. It's literally just photos of famous European landmarks, and terribly grainy ones at that, set to cheesy American TV musical score. And to make matters even worse, you don't even get a tour guide or anything. I can't imagine many people know each and every one of those places they are shown. A narrator telling us "and now we're off to... blah blah blah" with some fun facts or some interesting banter, a joke or two, would improve the ride ten fold.

Europe in the Air is comparable to Google image searching "European landmarks".

Luckily, I got to do Corkscrew Hill. And I thought it was much, much, much better. It was involving, well produced and a genuine piece of good story telling. Europe in the Air is cheap on every level, and that's sad. Parks seem to think narrative based rides have no reridability, but I don't know about you guys, but when I lost the narrative element to my homepark's dark ride to "interactivity" with guns to shoot pointless dots of light, it actually made the ride less reridable for me. Before, I went on it because it was nostalgic and because I loved how well it was done. And I can recall all my family loving it. And who else as a kid watched the same few favourite movies over and over again? Kids love repetitive stories.

Having riden Soarin at Epcot numerous times, I never experienced motion sickness like I have on 2 rides of EITA in the past 6 months...something just doesn't jibe with me with this sim ride...it really should be smoother...until then, I'll keep power walking on by to get to Aquitaine.

Yes I have noticed I have felt a little sick after leaving that ride the last few times. But I really thought it was just me getting older ( yes I know this is relative considering I am only 27)

This ride is terrible. I have ridden it twice and despise it. BGW just needs to realize that this ride is a flop. They ethier have to Put a new ride in that building or redo ireland completely. Maybe you can have a soarin over ireland ride there!

The biggest issue with EITA? Movement doesn't match what you see. Video speeds forward, you go backwards. The image doesn't move, you jerk around. Turn left, turn WAY more left. It makes me sick....

That's not bad idea to have a ride like Soarin to replace what is currently there. Anything is better than what is there now. I also like your name Soarin Over Ireland.

To be honest they could have just redid corkscrew hill instead. I felt the seats jerked way too much that's why I liked EITA but if it is getting jerky, I might as well give up all hope.

^i loved corkscrew hill to death but to me i just think it was time to move on, it was a classic but so was le mans. I think that maybe they will bring it back because eita is so unpopular and saw what universal did with spiderman

I smell a cool ride. It won't be copyright infringement if they didn't copy the same thing that Disney did. I still would love to see corkscrew hill back any day if they redid it with a twist.
