I love reading members' concept ideas and am certainly not trying to discourage creativity, but a water ride called Montezuma's Revenge is one I would most definitely skip.

Hey, I figured they could play upon the legends around Cortez (Spanish, right?) Stealing Montezuma's gold thus unifying the New Spain hamlet with Spain - the revenge part would be whatever drops and or effects that could be had.

Yeah, it could be called something else entirely... But if you didn't automatically think traveler's sickness it does also have a nice intense sound to it.

I think your idea is great, and if it weren’t for the colloquial meaning of Montezuma’s Revenge, I’m sure the name would be fitting. But since my first thought of having the name Montezuma’s Revenge associated with a water ride was “I wonder if the water would be brown,” the ride name might need a bit of tweaking. Other than that, great concept!

Maybe a tweak - Revenge of Montezuma?

Huh. It would be an interesting behavioral experiment to see if that simple name tweak would change the perception of the name.

not just any launch, but the LAST Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop in the US. Worth noting it is flywheel driven not weight drop like King Kobra was.

Actually, scrap the water ride and stick one of those in - would probably be a whole lot cheaper and people would love it.

incidentally, this ride and my desire to ride it before it gets scrapped is why I continue to want to go to Knott's first when I take my Cali amusement vaca. (one day... when I am not poor and done paying off Grad School.)

I honestly didn't know about that until you posted that.

If the name works for Knott's Berry Farm, maybe a lot of people don't, or they don't associate the two. Could just be my twisted thinking. ?

My immediate thought when I read “Montezuma’s Revenge” was the same as yours: revolting stomach ailment.

On another note, I don’t want another American hamlet at BGW, especially when there are so many interesting European countries left.
