Maybe it’s just me but the new boats seem to make a lot less impressive of a splash. Maybe it’ll be different when fully loaded with humans?

More weight = more force. Think of being at the pool when the 5 year old weighing 80 LB's makes a cannonball vrs the 15 year old that weighs 150. Same idea with the boats. When they are empty there isn't enough weight and force to make a bigger splash. But even load it half way and there's much more force and weight to hit the water with.

Not only that the empty boats also displace far less water than loaded boats. Think of being in the bath and Archimedes. You never fill the bath the full way. Only part way. But if your significant other is joining you in the bath, you need to fill it even less. Same things with these boats. That splash is just the amount of water that's being displaced to keep them afloat. The deeper into the water the boat sinks at the start, the more splash potential it has.

Right I know that. I am aware of 2nd grade physics. But the boats I was talking about we're loaded with water dummies. I thought that would be assumed.

My understanding is that the seats were replaced but the shells are the same.

It was up and running this past Saturday from around 2 to until late evening. Not sure if it was open Sunday or not.

It was odd because it had the refurb sign out front when I first walked past and the queue is still uncovered. But after I had lunch at Marco Polo, it appeared to be operating normally with guests on.

Perhaps the lunch at Marco Polo was giving you hallucinations?

Anyone get a chance to ride? I really hope they fixed some of the effects, especially the music in the last room.
