RE: Entwined: Tales of Good and Grimm (2012 to Present)
I think the story, in its most basic form (combined forces of evil after a team of familiar main characters) should have made a great show. Sadly, something seems to have gone very wrong between the basic concept and the version we see now. Why is the most menacing weapon the evil witch could find a glitter-covered fishing net? Why is the witch's spell of giving everyone candy and singing a Willy Wonka song evil? How is "Big Bad Wolf, Bittersweat, it's time for you to leave" enough to stop two villains from executing their (evil?) plan? Why do all of the supposedly evil characters (and a ton of characters that don't show up anywhere else in the show) come out on stage and sing a few songs at the end? Lastly, and probably most importantly, why does every single last song in the show have to randomly burst into some jazz remix?!
Basically, the story is great on paper. However, because how badly the show as a whole is executed, it reflects badly on every aspect of the show, including the story.
Edit: It's also worth noting that, by my calculation, the show's main story (from when the Big Bad Wolf and Bittersweet are introduced to their banishment) lasts for about 10 minutes of the roughly 20 minute show.
