RE: Entwined: Tales of Good and Grimm (2012)

Thanks for the pictures. The arch looks great!

Your Welcome.

I forgot to mention my opinion about what I though of the show itself. I agree that it is a great kids show with little if any appeal to Adults. It is because of this that I would rate it a mediocre at best family show ( it does not have something to entertain all, though some of he music may entertain the adults).

That being said, BGW's Facebook is getting hit hard on entwined over this is Oktoberfest.

I can't believe that the majority of the people on the park's Facebook page are agreeing with the (majority?) of the people here. I'm pretty sure that's a first.

...and I think that speaks volumes. The comments on their most recent blog post are following suit.

EDIT: I had WAY too much in bold. Reading it was like being accosted. Fixed.

RE: Entwined: Tales of Good and Grimm (2012)

Thanks for bringing the discussion here.

Seriously, the reaction seems much worse than even what happened with Fiends. With Fiends you had people on both sides split about down the middle- with Entwined, it seems that about 90% of it is negative. It's actually a bit shocking. It shows that the general public actually does care about some of this stuff. I'm impressed.

To be fair, I see exactly two negative posts about Entwined in the past few days with a handful of likes each. Don't see many positive comments though. I wouldn't call that "hammered." In reality, the park was dead Saturday and Sunday. How many people really saw it? How many of them are active FB commenters.

Again, even with something like this, I think you'd have to let it play out way, way more before framing this as the "park is getting hammered!," "the response is overwhelmingly negative!"

Shafor, check out the responses to BGW's post that linked to a blog on the new show and costumes. Just about every post was negative towards the show. I was really surprised.

Are you counting just initial posts on their wall, or followup comments to those posts... as well as followup comments to the posts that Busch puts up?

Only a few people actually stated they saw it. I guarantee most of them are just going by impressions and jumping to a conclusion (like certain fan forums I know  )

People saying there were technical difficulties (which I experienced as well), or saying that they wish it was in a different venue, do not equate to "slamming" it IMO.

Oh, and BTW, I certainly hope that the people who were blowing off FB comments that were critical of Fiends because "Facebook isn't a true representation of the guest feedback," aren't going to start pointing to FB comments critical of Entwined as a way to back up their opinion that the show sucks. (But I don't think anyone here would really do that. ;) )

I am going hold my judgement till I can actually see the show, however, I did speak with a friend who saw the show on Sunday. She stated that it was still experiencing a lot of technical difficulties, especially audio issues. She stated that the audio was unclear and muddy, and at times so loud she had to cover her ears. She also hated the use of the fog machines. I personally hated the use of the fog machines during Fiends. I will not eat at the Festhaus if they continue to use the fog machines.

Also I'm not even going to try and begin to understand how fog is questionable or inappropriate... The fog was really light inside the building but added to the atmosphere and lighting for fiends.

A lot of people have reactions, from mild to severe, to the solution used for producing theatrical fog. Like strobe lighting, it's often customary to post a warning...

RE: Entwined: Tales of Good and Grimm (2012)

I saw the 3:30 show on Sunday and the audio was all over the place. They had to stop and start the introduction audio which caused the poor girl playing the fairy godmother to just kind of have to stand there waiting for it to reboot. Hansel's microphone didn't work at all during his performance. One of the condom trees got stuck halfway up. Later in the show the fairy godmother's high heel got caught in her dress and she almost did a face plant on the stage. A lot of hiccups.

Also, I didn't notice anything particularly overwhelming about the fog. Seemed rather subtle to me.

why would you not eat in festhaus if they continue to use atmospheric effects?

incorrect sir... the fluid used for entwined is water based...ie non toxic and safe....it is not glycol or oil based which the latter two are well known for producing health hazards

also the fog is not thick enough nor lingers long enough for exposure times to be an issue....

Don't they use a hypo allergenic fog?

edit: Ivybrit beat me to it. Maybe it's a perception thing.

Unless someone knows that going in, however, they may just see the fog and leave based on past encounters with the other type - hence their trepidation.

Just playing devil's advocate here.

EDIT: after a quick google search, I found that even water-based fog juice can still contain glycol, which has some potential to cause headaches, dizziness, drowsiness and tiredness in sensitive people.

Exactly. Once bitten, twice shy.

Is the glycol used as a preservative? Or a type of anti-mold agent? Just curious as to how it's used in these type of fog machines. Thanks. As you can see, I failed chemistry ;) lol

The fog irritates my eyes and throat. During Fiends the fog was so severe and so thick that I started coughing and my eyes were buring, I couldn't wait to get out of the Festhaus. It may not be apparrent to you, but I can actually tattse the fog. It ruins the food that I pay a whole lot of money to eat.

I strongly disagree with you, apparently you didn't see Fiends last year. the fog was so thick, that you couldn't see to the far side of the Festhaus. It did linger, it did not dissipate, it even obscured the performers. Hopefully BG learned something from that event, and will tone down the fog for Entwined.
