RE: Entwined: Tales of Good & Grimm (2012 to Present)

I originally posted this under MIU. But, I wanted to comment on Entwined. Are they running this show short handed or has someone already quit/been fired?

Entwined – Audio Board Operator – This show is a live fairy tale featuring singers and dancers. Audio operator would be managing up to 15 vocal microphones during live show and maintaining volume and audio quality throughout. Position would start as soon as possible. 25-30 Hours a week. $11.95 an hour.

P.S. These went up on Craigslist April 1, also.

A reminder.  Of happiness and majesty and celebration.  Of beauty and atmosphere. Of good times. Let us hope this becomes a reality again.

I saw this also today. The Festhaus was considerably busy. However, it was almost laughable how little applause the show got. I'm serious, maybe 25 people out of all the people in the front of the Festhaus clapped. I felt so bad for the performers, they deserve so much better than this terrible show.

Just for perspective I also stayed to watch TIO, and the crowds were the same, maybe a little less, and that got a very good amount of applause, but then again TIO is an enjoyable show.

That is exactly how I feel. Sometimes I wonder if the directors take it out on the actors. Obviously, they can't help it, but they often seem very distraught during performances. The criticism could be coming from anywhere, it could even be the lack of positive response in the audience. Regardless, it's obvious that they are not being treated very well by someone. I have to reemphasize that this could be anyone, so don't be too quick to turn your head to anyone in particular.

I feel bad for the performers as well. Their best cannot make what is (essentially, at best) a mediocre show better, as others discovered the first year of Entwined.

RE: Entwined: Tales of Good & Grimm (2012 to Present)

I decided to go back to uncharted territory, the beginning of this thread, and I saw this post:

I was given a bit of information on Entwined today and if it's all true (it's from a good source), I think we have an excellent show coming to the park this year. By the sounds of it, Entwined will take a handful of different German fairy tales and nursery rhymes and jumble them all together into one show. I've heard there will be fog and even some simulated fire and snow. Also, apparently the deck area above the entrance to Das Festhaus has been converted to an audio and effects booth for the show and is now disguised as a gingerbread house.

Wow. That couldn't have been more wrong!

Noticed this yesterday. Yes, I did see this yesterday. Am I the only one, or was there a lot of added dialogue to the Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel part?(haven't seen it sense earlier this Spring)

I just feel like the enthusiasm in this show isn't there anymore. Compared to other shows, even London Rocks, this has the least enthusiasm of them all.(with TIO topping off as the cast who has the most enthusiasm)

However, yesterday I did enjoy one moment of the show. When Luna meets the villains, she explains where she's off too "I'm going to the Castle... blah blah blah" and when she finished that, the villains were behind her, the wolf was sniffing her, and all that stuff. And when she finished that spiel she said in a scared voice "Yaaay..." I don't know why, but I found that addition legitimately funny for whatever reason. Come to think of it, it was probably the only enjoyable part of the show for me.

It wasn't wrong- at the time we just couldn't have seen the park's Entertainment department doing, well, what they did.

Zach,
Why, why do you push me to my soap box? I am trying to avoid my soap box.
My hate for you burns with the fire of a thousand suns...

RE: Entwined: Tales of Good & Grimm (2012 to Present)

Saw this show the other day. I was prepared for the very worst because of what I have heard on these forums, but I thoroughly enjoyed this show from beginning to end. I loved the music, the acrobatics, the dancing, everything! Maybe its because I'm still just a big kid at heart, but I found myself smiling through most of the show because I was so thoroughly enjoying it. This show is 10x better than LR. I was a bit afraid to see another BGW show after LR, but I was pleasantly surprised. If any of the Entwined cast are reading this, you guys ROCK!

Unless I got my dates wrong, Aug. 25th is finale day for ENTWINED.

The 24th is the last day for our wonderful leading lady LUNA.

*gonna double-check...

I can confirm. Was in the park yesterday and was elated to see the Oktoberfest band and dancers roll in at 2:30. Entwined was not listed in the Entertainment Guide on the map and This is Oktoberfest had shows at 12:30, 2:30, 4:30 & 6:00.

Pretty sure everyone, except maybe the Entwined cast, wishes this was for good. Oh well. Made my day yesterday.

Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that...
