I went up on it today which I was so grateful for. I waited in line while maintenance had to fix it with some downtime before finally going up. While I was waiting to go back down, there was a lot of loud banging noises which sounded a bit unsettling if I'm being honest. A maintenance guy once again had to come back up and ride down with us.

Did the Eiffel Tower actually operate today? I was looking at Queue Times earlier and it appeared to be open, but now it's listed as the usual "Closed."

I saw maintenance guys standing by the base of the tower but I didn't see it operate at all. Queue Times is pretty good for the most part but it can be inaccurate. It still keeps saying Pantherian is open...
Thanks for the info. I just read on the KD subreddit that they were apparently testing it on Saturday as well. Hopefully they're coming close to resolving whatever problem they're having with it.

I remember about 7sh years ago, they almost had to evac using the stairs. My memory is foggy on the specifics, but the park experienced a power outage. Only the west elevator is connected to the backup generator. While trying to get the west elevator operational via generator - it was struggling badly. Again, I'm foggy on details, but I believe the power came back and they were fortunately able to come down normally.

For those that also may be unaware, if the elevator is stopped in the center of the tower - they can perform an "elevator transfer". Basically maintenance hops on top of the working elevator and aligns the two elevators. There is a glass door that opens up inside of the elevator that can unlock and open. They put down a bridge (plank) and net across and guests can transfer to the operational elevator. For the guests at the top, they will do a platform transfer via a small set of stairs to the opposite platform.

I know the elevators are unreliable, but both elevators must be operational for them to open the tower for the day. But it makes me curious what happened that both failed at the same time considering the other elevator was only in standby mode for evac purposes.
