I still stand by Griffon's drop into the ravine making it NOT a parking lot coaster. Imagine if they moved that ride. The footers under the tallest part of the ride would have to be 20 to 30ft +. That's not really feasible. Therefore, according to my definition, Griffon is not a parking lot coaster.

Now if the first dive was off a cliff then I'd be impressed however, ground can be redone easily with no problem to move it. Plus that dive out of the station isn't that nessacary, the ride can be corrected so it doesn't yet still keep the design the same/similar.
 
I will call it a partial parking lot coaster since most of it is a parking lot coaster with the one small piece.
 
I bent a lil for you Carter since you bring up a good point, but I still see it differently than you in my eyes.
 
Griffon uses the terrain much better than SheiKra. SheiKra iscompletely flat, and, in fact, it LITERALLY goes into the employee parking lot.

There used to be a part of Drachen Fire that extended over a sidewalk somewhere. In my memory, I see at as being like 8 feet off of the ground (of course, that can't be right). Could someone tell me where this feature was in relation to today's park and how high above the ground the part really was?
 
It was right in front of the gift shop that is still there. The footer is there today for one side of it covered with mulch.

Across from that smoking area? With the benches? I'm looking at it on Google streetview...aside from HoS (in the dark) I haven't been back there in YEARS. Crazy. And thanks.

EDIT: How high was it, really?

All I can say is that the landscaping and the Drachen Fire itself was beautiful; despite the faults. I wish it could have been saved because it was breathtakingly gorgeous.

You did walk under one of the inversions when entering.

I loved the super fast lift hill too. Ah~ I think I was one of the few people that still love ol' Drachen. I was there the day it opened and have a photo of me with the Dragon.
