Just because the park doesn't have the integrity to put the correct stylization/ spelling/ ect. on their expensive attractions, doesn't mean that we have to follow the same path.

But we'd be covering up their mistakes. Not naming it what the park has it named, would make us look mis-informed on what the proper name is, so it'd actually make us look bad as a super-fan site, because we should know everything, but having an un-matching name would make us look like we don't know something.

^ Oh, I dunno, maybe it would make us look like we know German syntax and are intelligent people?!

No, we would claim that we just name our threads what the park names their rides. Incorrect German articles aren't our responsibility. And you know how you pointed out the flaw in Da Vinci's Cradle's name? If that's incorrect, wouldn't we need to rename that thread so it's correct too? That's the logic you're proposing here.

Wow, did I just win an argument? That's got to be a first.

*shakes hands with Jonquil*

No hard feelings, buddy.;)

I was just kidding with that statement. And you probably won anyway, Zachary's never going to change the name.

^^ I totally understand where you're coming from. I just can't believe that BGW never bothered to check with anyone who understood basic German syntax. Then again, I'm constantly surprised that most people aren't perfectionists like me.

It has always been contradicting. The big blue and white pole with the twisted banner that says "Die Wirbelwind" on it has been around since before the renovations, so that one has always been incorrect. The old ride information sign(before the Oktoberfest renovations) had "Der Wirbelwind" on it, and then when they switched it out, they put "Die Wirbelwind." And it's varied outside of those two signs. On the website the park automatically puts "Der" in front of everything, no matter what the proper article is, or what the sign says, so....

Can I just point out that the park has the right to name their ride anything they want? If they chose for whatever reason to use bad grammar, it may be annoying to us, but we really can't logically use a different name on our fan site.

We don't object to "Xtreme Skyflier," which clearly isn't English. How is this any different. It isn't a label; it is a proper noun. Right or wrong, it is what the park calls the ride that matters. Our site has to use the park's names to refer to the park's rides.

Did that make sense?
