Yes there was a band of pirates that ran straight for Deadline as we were heading to Cut Throat Cove. I figured the stage manager was having one heck of a night.

Aha! I had forgotten about that. Yes, they passed us as we were entering CutThroat Cove just after we crossed the Troll Bridge. Sound like they were being a rowdy band of pirates to me. They pillaged the Battering Ram & DeadLine. Aaaaaaarrrrr!! :p

Poor Brandon, it was his first year as a stage manager and the stage manager for Ports of Skulls was canned. He was promoted halfway through to all of the pirates.

Actually, I do at least know that you don't get banned from the park, but I am sure you won't be rehired anytime soon.

Well, Im interested to see what they are gonna do next year, cause theyll probably start construction for the new festa ride, and if thats in the area, we could see brand new maze design elsewhere...which could fail miserably.

As of now there is no project planned for the Cut Throat Cove area. So it is safe to assume either Cut Throat Cove will return or a new maze will be brought to the lineup with a similar layout.

Well, from what Ive heard when corporate was around, they simpl;y adored the maze, and I would love to see it get a proper attempt with better scenery and less dangly stuff...The only place where the dangly stuff makes sense is the cave and maybe the doorways. Also, I would like to see a better attempt at the art just before the cave, as it is just plastic sticks covered with foam and held on with zipties...I mean, it really was cutback cove. I heard that they had to mount a light in the captains quarters, and they used legit duct tape and paperclips. The tech guy must be a flipping maguyver!

haha...thats quartermaster weesnaw in the beard..his real name is corum, and hes just awesome. of course, idk if i can say this now that HoS is over, but i was the french pirate that wasnt in the bar at the time, and wa sin the torture hill, and was either shouting HEYYYY YOOOUUU GUYYYYZZZ or AAADDDRRRIIIAAAAANNNN! like rocky...what can i say, it was the last night!

If you go watch and listen to the second video I posted a page or so back, you can hear yourself saying "HEY YOU GUYS!!" It made me laugh. Loved Sloth.

Im glad you enjoyed it! ^_^ it was my first year doing HoS and it was the most fun ive had...despite me being spit upon the wekeend before. My best scare was whispering in peoples ears, and quoting darkastle with WHY ARE YOU HERE. other than that, i make people laugh then stalk them. i also let out a ghastly whisper, sounding like a cursed wind as i weave in and out of crowds/.One night i climbed on the metal cage(only one layer up) and jumped off at people, but the cage came loose so I couldnt risk the cage falling on me and possibly a guest.

and do you know how hard it was to not say thanks to all the people saying they liked what i was doing/? I was also the drunk pirate at times. i always tried to do something new each weekend just to keep things fresh.

That's actually a very good point, Preston.  Those boards would make for some difficulty maneuvering a wheelchair through the maze.  I'm surprised they actually used them with the issues it might cause for handicapped people.

It's way hard for me to push over all of the boards, near the exit one board flung my mother right out of her wheel chair. While staff members watched and didn't bother to help.

Outdoor mazes are much more susceptible to conditions like that. If they start to design more of their houses in a Tampa style, they would make it slightly easier. Even Tampa has problems though. I also find it sad, but believable that the staff would react that way. They stand there for hours, and are not really able to do much. The, when a situation comes where they can help they are so bored, they look like zombies themselves. I think they need to find a new system for security, but there's another thread for that somewhere.
