Disney Parks donates supplies to hospitals and medical professionals in need
In response to the virus crisis and the need for protective equipment, Disney Parks has donated a number of supplies to hospitals and medical professionals.

In Disney's defense, they have a maintenance staff supporting a small city and probably go through N95 masks on a pretty regular schedule for all kinds of hazardous work.
This would be an indicator that Disney doesn't expect to re-open anytime soon, as masks are a necessary OSH item for a lot of work, and re-stocking may not be a quick turnaround.
Based on Attractions Magazine's efforts lately, there's no telling how long ago Disney made those donations.
It could also be that they purchased these masks in order to donate. I'm not sure that these are necessarily masks that they already had on hand.
Also, it’s not like the masks are any less useful now than they would have been earlier. What an unnecessary criticism of an admirable donation.
Why is it unnecessary? This is a personal philosophy, but I don’t praise companies for doing action late even if it’s still needed. I’m sorry but I don’t think it’s unnecessary to ask “why the delay?”
And you don't know they're was a delay. They could have done it weeks ago but the site just caught wind of it. I'm sorry, but you made a judgement based on an assumption.

Disney is under absolutely no obligation to anybody to donate supplies. They are an entertainment company. It's also not "late" when the supplies are just as vital now. The mere fact that they donated at all is something to be praised, especially at a time when we could really use some positive news.
I just think it's a bad opinion. Disney's donation is every bit (100%) as effective now as it would have been in the past. In fact, as our supplies dwindle, I'd argue the donation is even more effective now. I think I would describe criticizing Disney for making an enormous, lifesaving donation later than some arbitrary deadline as "ungrateful'".
Where's the evidence that they held onto these? Maybe before assuming something, consider that there were probably some logistics to collecting the spare masks from the resorts to put the donation together.
While I don't think any donation can really be criticized, I don't believe @warfelg is being 'ungrateful' and he has his right to an opinion. I wish he provided a better argument for his opinion, but that's not really the point of my post.

So what I had written out that I decided against was that I feel this way because my cousin works in NYC. Has been using the same mask weekly for 4 weeks now and it's not an N95 mask. He's been wearing a standard surgical mask, then doubling up with the previous weeks surgical mask. So when a place that shut down two weeks ago and the donation isn't there yet, it's frustrating to hear that from him, especially when it's been known for a while that supplies were short. On top of that, these 100,000 masks are being divided up between 3 states (California, Florida, New York), so there's a chance they still might not receive what they need. And I know Disney has little to do with that part of it, but it's just upsetting to think about that because this donation is happening after they've run out rather than before, not everyone that could use supplies are going to get them.
But if you're going to accuse Disney of purposely delaying the donation then the burden of proof is on you.
So prove it.
