RE: Concerts 2012

the sound is crap the stage is crap the lighting leaves something to be desired and yes it would be better to set up a stage in fhp and hang up line arrays and put up truss with a decent lighting rig then to try to fix a crappy set up in palace, but since fhp is unavailable they are progressing with palace...which is fine. Still crap, but what can you do...

as like everything party..you take everything too literally...:p

RE: Concerts 2012

The sound in RPT is bad, drives me crazy.
As far as the concerts which brought their own lighting, I think the truss stage in FHP would be easier for them because it is a more standard for a tour. RPT has that weird roof that doesn't cover the entire stage.

I do take things literal, sometimes. I try to look for the non-literal meanings sometimes. I also overlook things too, like when I thought the bathroom expansion was hinting to something bigger, lol, silly me :)

I like the set-up in RPT and the concerts are back there anyway even though the FHP will be useable.

Things they can improve on would definitely be lighting and sound. Like I'm sure it couldn't hurt to get a better sound system for the theater, as for lighting, they can easily get their own and replace worn out lights. I think we can expect to see the theater re-amped up. After all, they were/are making a few changes to it this off-season.

I always preferred the set up in FHP over RPT because it felt more like the modern concert venue and I really enjoyed the seclusion FHP offers.

RPT could be modern, if they ever decided to renovate it, which might happen sometime soon.

Why is it Tampa gets more concerts for more days than Williamsburg? I started buying my season pass a few years ago when the shows were great and ran fot 2 nights. We dont even get the Bud and BBQ anymore........

You ask a good question. I think it's partly due to a year round season. Another is RPT is smaller than FHT and that's why they use FHT now and not as much as RPT. That's why I think when RPT will be the new norm when FHT area is used for future expansion of the park.

I hope once they go through their expansion, that they can bring back in bigger names for concerts and such. I mean they've spent a lot of money on renewing irelend, scotland, and oktoberfest, as well as Mach Tower, Verbolten, and removing Corkscrew Hill.

I have been upset that BGT gets more notable artists too, but then again BGT probably has a bigger budget, they are open all year round and get decent weather almost all the time. But I am sure we will get more concerts and notable artists, after then install the resort and expand.

When did they spend money on Scotland, other than the new bathroom and fence?

It has nothing to do with year round so try again. It has to deal with the population in the area and competition in the surrounding area. Year round is irrelevant in this case.

Because 5-6 rain showers per day from late April through early September is near decent. 95*+ just after a good pouring making humidity 100% and heat index jump through the roof is near decent. It is drier here with more desirable temperatures during season. Year round is irrelevant so drop than can now. Central Florida also has more draws for artists. We are in a dead zone. A zone that costs quite a bit more. The same reason a concert here for the same artist is more than a venue in Central or South Florida. It costs more to get there here than there. Then consider how many actually own property within a reasonable distance of there.

So much misinformation, kinda laughable.

Sorry, the stables honestly look the same with the exception to the fence and bathrooms. I can't imagine that would be as big a cost as something like Verbolten, the Oktoberfest re-vamp, even the Ireland re-vamp (just the new show and replacement of CH) probably was way more costly.

I was just finding things that fit together, thanks for sharing the light Atlantis!

Another reason I think they should stick with FHP is the shade that was available around that area vs. RPT

RE: Concerts 2012

FHP may be a better venue if you enjoy standing or sitting on the grass, a basic travel concert set-up, etc. Just remember, RPT is being touched a bit in regards to fixing up seating and such. This could address the issues of lights, sound, and staging. Also, there are quite a few people who enjoy sitting or need a proper seat. Then yo have the open space in the back for children to run around and play plus shade on the one side of the theater pathway by the train tracks. I saw the Miranda Cosgrove concert in that shade and I got a pretty decent clear view of the stage.
