How would an RMC Raptor fit in with KD’s lineup? What would it be themed to? Where would it go? What would it replace?

It would fit in well but I don't think its a contender to replace Volcano
I'd love to see a large scale one (like jersey devil) replace Anaconda when/if its closed. There is tons of unused space in the lake. But they definitely should keep the under water tunnel for sure.
I would love to just axe the old action theater and drop one of the Stunt Pilot clones right there. Yup bye action theater screw any other uses you have for KD, RMC Raptor for me!
Honestly, I'd much rather see a Hyper GTX than a Raptor. JDC was pretty underwhelming IMHO. Of course, as Joe Draves starts taking over more that might change.
I wouldn't want a Raptor since JDC is no further away for me, but I know that's just my situation. I wouldn't have thought the capacity would work at KD, but then I guess it works at SFGAdv, so I suppose it would. If they put one in, it better not be the Volcano replacement!
Have you been on a GTX? I just watched the video and it looks interesting. I noticed they use the old school arrow/vekoma track with the guide wheels on the inside of the track.
God yes..... Lightning Run is in my top 15 (out of 286). And it essentially is the Arrow track -- I mean, technically it's Morgan track but same thing.
I’m gonna do this for BGW also but what rides do you think should be demolished and/or replaced.
Anaconda needs to be tossed in the garbage.
While I do agree that it’s not a great ride- my recent rides a week ago were quite smooth and enjoyable. The only problem is that it’s got a bad transitions.
The transitions don't kill Arrow Loopers, the trains do. I wish a park would bite the bullet and get a Vekoma MK1212 train for their Arrow Looper.... I think it would change the ride drastically. The transitions of the arrows are kind of part of their charm to me.
What kills me on that one is element after element. Many of their loopers tend to have “breaks” in them between elements.
I have a concept, they should tear down Intimdator 305 and put in dueling B&M gigas and call them giraffe racers! It would be fucking sick.
Like think about two huge stell coastes just zooming around safari village. it could interact with fof! They could also go underground next to anaconda and interact with that, maybe coaster with most interactions ever? (i know, pretty sweet)

I think the hyper gtx would work incredibly well on the anaconda plot, or also back in old Virginia, on the action theatre or anywhere, lightning rod is super tiny iirc, so if its just expanded to be taller and have a much longer layout, that would be a sufficiently thrilling layout and ride i guess. Who knows though. It would be nice

Some fantasy thinking over here, but the talk about the north side of Soak City and its few remaining, aging attractions got me thinking. If Baja Bends and Freestylin’ — both 30 years old now — both reached the end of their service lives, how difficult would it be to turn the front half of the waterpark back into a lake?
I’m curious if anyone knows the logistics and finances behind a project like that. Is it as simple as demolishing the few remaining structures, ripping out the electric hookups, and building up a perimeter to contain the water? The waterpark already exists in a “hole” — you can clearly tell that you’re standing in what used to be a lake, and you can easily see the dam of earth they built to separate the remnants of the lake under Anaconda from the waterpark. It seems like, with the proper precautions taken, they’d basically just have to break down that damn, open up the food gates, and fill that “hole” back up with water.
To be clear, this isn’t a realistic idea in the slightest. I know it’s been floated by plenty of others before though, and I’d love to know from any construction experts or pond aficionados on here how difficult this sort of undertaking would be. For what it’s worth, we are seeing Cedar Fair take unprecedented steps to remove attractions and replace them with spaces with family and aesthetic appeal. If there ever were a time where an idea like this might be something a little less than crazy, it’s now.

I don't think they'd undergo the planning and expense without having some way to recoup their costs - whether directly or as a loss leader.
Lake Charles isn't much of an attraction in itself, and it's not like there aren't other actual lakes nearby if that's what people wanted.
So unless they did that to add a new attraction over/under it, my guess is that's not the kind of redevelopment we'll see.
But who knows though, maybe it's crazy enough to work.

Totally agree, they’d have to find some way to make money off the project. Whether that’s putting a show on the lake, building dockside dining areas, adding boat rides (maybe for an up charge), or just flexing the lake like crazy in marketing materials, they’d have to do something to make the money back. For sure.
My question isn’t about the profitability of adding back the lake, though, it’s about how much it would cost to do in the first place. I’m wondering if we’re talking a million dollars, or tens of millions.
