RE: Interactive Map-Plan Your Vacation

I just feel busch should try new ways to let guests xplore the park without actually being there, and this would help, especially with HOS and CT.

Well technically that's the idea with their website/apps, but they do a pretty terrible job at it. This whole thing could be deeply integrated into a website/app relatively easily (assuming the park actually creates the video content needed).

But I see exactly what you mean, the park has done an extremely poor job at getting the special events out there. The app doesn't get any updates, their main sites are usually out of date with information pertaining to the event and as are the special events' website....

I'd say BGWFans does a far better job than the park does at keeping content up to date.

Lol yeah, why do you think Im here for? You guys sniff stuff out like, a year before busch plans to begin announcing stuff!

Escape From Pompeii Refurb

Well, I grew up going on this ride, and its amazing, but now I notice some major flaws.

1)the ceiling fire effect doesnt seem to work all te time, and its a let down for me when its not.

2) the statue falls like 5 seconds too soon.random stone on stone sound out of nowhere afterwards.

3)Other than that, it seems more like a busted gas main that caught fire.

4)Also, it doesnt look so much like an excavation anymore, especially with the sundial.

SOLUTIONS!

1)Get someone to fix it.easy.

2)same as 1.

3) Here iswhere the original concepts come in. at one point, you should see vesuviius through a hole in the wall, which is done with a simple illusion effect, and towards te end, there should be ash falling from the ceiling when you getr eady to drop. this effect can be done using the same technique used to do fake snow in yankee candle. soap suds that are released by a fan . Where the water jets are, instead of having it be hoses, why not geysers? Around the ride, have smouldering craters with the mist effect like behind the pompeii sign. When theres the tremor on the inside, have the sound of an eruption sound on sub woofers, so that you can feel the vibration. In the explosive fire room(the first fire scene) ,have some sort of item be flipped over by a water jet/geyser, makew it look like this plac e is really getting torn apart!
4)Have tools and stuff lying around inside the bulding and out, its ok to have a sundial, but make it aged and ruined looking. I know youre tyring to go all pretty, but ruins arent pretty in that way. Maybe up towards the building have a jeep with the archaeology thing on it, but the vehicle is smoking.
Or , perhaps, by the entrance, by the blil boats, have a spare boat be docked there, but its blackened and smoking. perhaps make it look like the burned boat is sinking/sunk. Make more references to the fact that the area is an archaeological dig, like have a sign by escape from pompeii sign that says New Dig, lost ruins of pompeii tours;Free. or something like that.Maybe make the food and wine hut look more like actual ruins, same with the gift shop, or make the giftshop seem like a archaeology tent that was set up by the equivalent to rednecks with degrees in archaeology.

I know ive been posting like crazy, but I just got so many ideas... hopefully one day I can implenet these to the park!

As I was strolling around CT last week with my awesome cranberry hot toddy, it occurred to me that I really wanted tea. I'm not sure if hot beverages would be wildly popular in the summer, although there is a coffee shop. In the Fall and Winter, however, it gets cold in the park.

It occurred to me that what Banbury Cross is missing is a tea shop. And I don't mean Starbucks with Tazo as an option. I mean a real, sit-down tea shop, with a variety of blends, traditional tea "snacks," and a pretty assortment of cups and pots. In fact, they could sell the cups and pots, as well.

At least up in DC, going to tea and having crumpets, finger sandwiches, little desserts, etc has become quite popular. Of course, I'm not sure how this would fit with a British Invasion Rock theme. And I would also note that we took our daughter to London when she was about 8, and she loved the tea shops. In fact, we ended up having a birthday tea party at Gatsby's Tavern later that year for her. So, I think this would even be child- friendly, if it matters.

So, I was thinking about O Tannenbaum today. I love the show, but it seems, imo, too small, condensed, and old. Every year I don't feel like standing there to watch the same show from the past four years. I was thinking, what if they made a light show that spanned the entire (viewable) Rhine River. Keep all the trees along the banks, decorate some surrounding trees, decorate back over by LNM, Alpen, and Griffon, and set it to music. It would be a magnificent view to watch the many trees flashing the music.
I know what you're thinking: "The San Marco Bridge would get very crowded and be unsafe for people to stand on!" Well, they could open the Rhine River bridge down by the boat docks, adding more space. I think it would be more exciting than what is there now.
I got this idea from N.O.E.L. at HersheyPark. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbJihcTNPzI ) They have it spanning their entire "river", and it looks spectacluar, but imagine how much better it would be if BGW did it!!
This is all in my opinion, nothing against O Tannenbaum, it is just old. Even a song change would be fine. :)

Hey Nic I love this idea, and it would be very nice for even a nice quaint tea shop, so people who want to relax a bit as they wait up front for their group. Really great idea. I also like going to the tea shops in Georgetown when I'm up that way. It's very relaxing and a great way to break up the day.

Pompeii reminded me of an idea I had. This idea has been bugging me for quite a while, but here it is. A new woodie coaster in the ravine between Pompeii, Lochness, and The Garden of Inventions. It will bridge the 'thrill gap' between Grover's and Verbolten. I bet that it could be quite good. Something like Wooden warrior that used the terrain. Suggestions, ideas, comments, ect are welcome!

I know you all remember the pirates and skeletons from the good ol days of HOS from back in the day. What if they returned to Banbury with a twist? Imagine Piratical Purgatory mixed with Ports of Skulls,Rippers Row, AND Demon street. The town would be ablaze by projected fire, old DS effects, and cannons placed on the roof tops. Pirates would be running around ,shooting fake guns, and interacting around. The citizens of the town would be running around in panic while the police try to calm the situation. Set up throughout the town would be photo ops from ports of skulls, two tiny forts with cannons facing each other, and the old Skeletons would be there. The park has a lot of Pirate Junk ALA Cut Throat Cove, so why don't we use it in a different way. Of course this idea needs to be thought about before actually happening so, any suggestions.

1)A pirate invasion would be awesome! But,instead of coppers, why not royal guard? Then, ignore the people saying Fear Fair was too intense and BRING IT BACK with a grand celebration of macabre delight, going back to the hanging clown in the Tea Cups!In France you could keep demons,or,go with the ghosts of the french revolution!Demons could just as easily go to germany(If the vampires are removed of course),or Ireland or Oktoberfest! These places already has modern music playing.

2)On a complete other thought,With the return of the gypsy wagon in Festa, why not add to the area with a small show/added theming.Make it a gypsy camp!Top it all off with authentic gypsy dancing.Would be neat for a lil summer fun.

What if they made the Rhine River Cruise Station a Pirate House? It wouldn't use the boats but it would be just like a regular house. Also, I figured out how to make the boring straight line that is Le Scoot. You could make it a train. Just spitballing here.

I'm not entirely sure its big enough for whole house.not to mention it wouldn't be wheelchair accessible as for the hills and steps. Guests would complain and whatnot...although the area itself is a blunder.most people who would enjoy it are elderly grandparents and their grandkids, yet the area is wheelchair and disabled unfriendly they probably would skip it.maybe the park should add a better wheelchair accessible system there.

Well that gave me an idea! They could make a light house underneath Nessie and it could connect to the bridge. Inside of this could be an elevator. The light house would also have an actual light for the top but there would be a surprise. Every time a train goes by it would project onto the Rhine a shadow of nessie swimming and about to pop up. There would also be green lights and fog machines attached. The little details is what it makes it a complete package. Just dreaming!:)
