Turtle trek was i huge let down. Cool animals but the show almost made me sick. We left after a few minutes and were not the only ones.

The only part of turtle trek I didn't like, was everyone trying to take pictures with flash during the movie. This resulted in a lot of red blobs all over the place too. I mean, when they take a picture with flash all you're going to get is mostly a picture of the white screen cmon.

Some of you aren't going to like this idea at ALL, but it's worth discussing.

Get rid of the glorified animal shelters we have at the park, or at least most of them. Is it really worth the expense and the enormous amount of land they use for them? Sure, it's fun to watch the dog & pony show at Pet Shenanigans, but let's be honest, most of the GP, including us, pretty much pass right through that whole area on our way to France and beyond.

Basically, I'm questioning the cost vs ROI on that area. I'll be honest. I could really give a rats ass about wolves. Their area takes up huge chunk of land that could be better utilized.

If I wanted to see a bunch of animals, I'd go to the circus or a zoo. I don't go to an amusement park to do that, nor do most of the GP.

Instead they could MOVE the wild reserve to where the Clydestale stables are behind Festa and expand to there. That way we can get the best of both worlds, a bigger reserve and the current area cleared out for an extended Ireland or a new country.

The Wild Reserve is actually kinda short on space anyway. It's literally a strip of land bordered on one side by the England lot and its access road. Griffon, Abbey Stone, and train tracks chill on the other side.

You could fit a few buildings and a few flats there, but a major coaster on that spot probably wouldn't work without building on, over, and under things.

- And I really happen to like that area too. It's a real nice place to sit and relax. Just wish there were more benches where you could actually sit and relax.

I would be OK with getting rid of that hill. Man I'm out of shape.

That's GD right....

Seriously...Let's throw in some fill dirt & level that stupid hill some. Try pushing a stroller w/60lbs of children in it up and down that thing all day. The rest of the park is hilly enough. I don't want to keep climbing the Matterhorn every time I go from Ireland to France...not to just look at some wolves who I could give a rats ass about...(Try facing a wild one down while camping & you might feel the same way I do. Just saying)

We were talking in the "Since the sale..." thread, but I thought this would be better over here. I am not sure if this has been done before, but what about a ride/show? Think along the lines of DarKastle, not the story or theme, but the actual ride itself, and instead of screens, you have live action actors performing to whatever the theme is, doing stunts, etc.

And it would only take a couple actors in a bad mood to destroy the ride. Imagine all day everyday the actors performing the same thing every 30 seconds. And the also the liability the park would be under, if an actor went to far and stepped in front of the ride tracks.

This is actually specifically why audio animatronics were invented. So you could to scenes on a ride.

Speaking of which, there aren't any at Busch Gardens...which is a serious oversight.

If you don't have singing, animatronic, anthropomorphic animals, you don't have a theme park.

Do you mean to say that KD has a thematic element that BGW does not?! *faints*

Seriously, though, I actually am surprised that there aren't any animatronics. I can think of plenty of rides that would have a dramatic benefit in their theming with an animatronic creature (Nessie, Griffon, Verbolten... A wolf on Big Bad Wolf would have been neat, too, though part of the fun was the mystery of never encountering it in person.)

Keep in mind that Secrets of Castle o'Sullivan had a few animatronics of the leprechaun, and its predecessor, and I believe the magic show from Hastings (Enchanted Laboratory, if I am correct) had a big animatronic owl in it.

That's my concept: BRING IN SOME ANIMATRONICS! In particular, I feel like Griffon would benefit from a simple animatronic griffin around the turn into the lift...something like the animatronic hippogriff just before the lift on Flight of the Hippogriff at IOA. Definitely would benefit Griffon by giving it some actual theming.
