Interesting article about RMC.

I posted Vekoma's Top Gun without realizing that was their "smaller" new launch coaster. The larger variation is Shockwave. Three of these are under construction. Layouts in the renderings for those parts look pretty awesome. So does their presentation video. Supposedly they have "a large project with a major US theme park". Depending on what type of coaster goes adjacent to Festa, this might work in the DF area.

Oh, a new hamlet?

In that case, I’d love to see either a relocation of InvadR to the new hamlet and having the hamlet be themed to Scandinavia, or for this to not happen and instead give the hamlet a Dutch theme (or maybe even a Russian theme) and a good-sized roller coaster to go with it.

Assuming Madrid has a spike, but that's a conversation for another thread
True.

As I said, I think any conception for the DF area will be dependent upon what the Madrid coaster turns out to be. Obviously they'd be looking to complement their collection. If Madrid pans out as some guess, this Shockwave would be a nice addition in DF's location.

What’s the max height for the Vekoma Shockwave layout?

According to the official stats -
Length - 3,593 ft.
Height - 126.3 ft.
Inversions - 5 (Vertical loop, Batwing, 2 corkscrews)
Speed - 62.1 mph

2 Trains w/4 cars per train. 2 across seating for 16 riders per train.
910 riders an hour.

But that Chinese rendering appears to be taller than the official stats.

Ah, I see.
But I still think that any thrill roller coaster to go into the former Drachen Fire area should have DF’s drop.

I have to say, I really do not see the appeal of having BGW do a tribute coaster to what is arguably their worst ride decision. If we are talking about something after Madrid, I would hope to see something fresh and new, something original.

I really wonder how many people who actually suffer through a few rides on DF would want it brought back from the ashes.

Agreed... and the first-drop corkscrew might have been DF's most visible element, but it wasn't exactly DF's best.

I still vividly recall the multiple goofy direction changes one could clearly feel while rolling through that thing.

In my perfect world, a future ride with strong DF references would limit the scope of those references to name and color scheme.

DF's best element was coming down!

FWIW, Hulk is DF's spiritual successor.

For whatever Madrid may be, I have no idea why I'd like to see something like Furius Baco at Port Aventura. It encompasses nothing that has been rumored so far in anyone's findings besides the RPA site plan and the ride potentially being a launch coaster. Turning the pastures into a Spanish vineyard with a new area with a couple of flats, presumably, I guess, something 300+' tall to satisfy the height waiver. Perhaps the starflyer. The area and the flat rides perhaps themed to Carnival, somewhat mixing the themes of the traditional San Marco with the jumbled party theme of Festa Italia and introducing a traditional Spanish theme. Then, the new, fastest ride in the park surrounding and interacting with the new area and vineyard. Winged trains and hydraulic accelerator would be a new and exciting experience for the park and the second ever after Furius Baco. A bridge crossing the ravine on the backside of San Marco immediately to the right of the Rhine bridge to the field. This would allow for coaster interaction as the ride plummets down into the Rhine valley or returning. The existing railroad crossing into the field on the Festa side would connect "Madrid" to the rest of the park.

Sounds good. I feel that a bridge over the tracks from the back of festa Italia similar to the entrance is more likely. I would think avoiding pedestrian crossings would be a priority plus the tracks in that area are lower than the surrounding area making a bridge easier.
