Pompeii is very tired anymore, at least for those of us that go nearly every year. It is a perfect area for projection or even just a standard programmed light sequence.
Which is why I suggested it. Plenty of viewing space and lots of light combinations they could do.

Brought this up about 3 years ago. If they did scaffolding over the water they could have a great viewing area for an awesome projection show and it would be much less labor intensive to setup.

I would love to see an update to Polar Pathway, although I hope they don’t change the heart of it. That area right now has such a powerful, awe-inspiring mood to it — and I think it’s largely because of the understated static nature of the lights and the beautiful, reflective Yanni music. It’s almost haunting.

I’m worried that if BGW turns it into a lights and projection show, it’ll turn into a tacky spectacle and lose its unique, reflective tone. I’d much rather see new effects added that compliment the beauty of the existing setup. Projection effects to make the “water” look like it’s really rippling, effects to make the building really shimmer, etc.

That would be a pretty cool way to refresh Pompeii’s lights. I’d also like to see a way they can have a polar pathway style section on the CMT Express that is adjacent to the paths.

SEAS/BG really needs to look at being involved in a broadcast show with some well know entertainers. Look at Dollywood, they used the park and her in a Hallmark movie. When I was there back in August they were filming a new Christmas special for NBC. The park was decorated, in sections, for the show and filming took place both during the day and evening. I understand that SEAS doesn't have an established entertainer as the owner or have a production budget of Disney or Universal/Comcast but now is a goodtime for partnership. There is a new competitor to Hallmark, Great American Channel (GAC) that is looking for content and taking established Hallmark talent so who's to say that wouldn't be a good/workable relationship. I know this will get some push back but, I see this as an option that would beneficial to the BGW and SEAS as a whole.

How about use one of their most unique attractions....the train. They added the RGB lights a few years ago in the most horrible way ever, they basically just put them on demo mode. Take all that crap down. Legit go all in on the latest technology in holiday lighting to produce a show. Have each section something completely diffrent and unique with colors, lights and so on. Take the section past the bridge and intregrate projection mapping on the two Drachenfire buildings with lighting on the lanscape. Heck they could even create a walkthrough experience using the path for witch in the woods that used the same lights for two attractions. How about think outside the box and gut one of the HOS houses and make it a walkrthough of Santas workshop or the north pole. Another idea I had was based off the tree trail they had a few years ago. Have a build a ornament area that included a small cost, say $5 per ornament. After you decorate the ornament you move to the next section where its lamaneted they you walk through the trail and hang it on the tree to remain there for the season. Then from Christmas to New Years you can take your ornamnent off the tree and take it home. Going through the trail would be free you would only pay to make the ornaments. It would not only ecourage repeat visits to see your ornament but a visit after the holidays to retrieve it.

I know this won't happen....

But, CT would be the perfect time for them to reboot culinary. When CT first started, marketing really promoted the festive family meals as an important holiday tradition. They should go back to that.

Back then, we really enjoyed eating at the park. Now we go out of our way to avoid eating at the park. Judging by the long lines of seen at McDonald's and wendys, I doubt we're the only ones.

It's watching $$$$$$$ walk out the door everyday.

Specifically:
1. Carving stations at trappers and festhaus (turkey and ham)
2. Carving station at Marco Polos (lamb)
3. Bring back dasher's diner with carving station, fresh salad, plus lots more ($30 or $35pp and reservations only, make sure it's quality to match price, and not oversold so guests are seated within 10 min of reservation )

These are from about a week ago. Zoom in so they are easier to see. When I seen the condition of these light globes when riding the train I was shocked. Most of the globes were dirty. I'm amazed that no one when they put them up bothered to wipe them down to clean them. A lot of them looked like this. It made me wonder if they thought they'd get cleaned the next time it rained! But this optic is yet another thing that makes the park look bad or that they don't care enough which aggravates me.

Pantheon and Apollo’s joining Invadr and Verbolten isn’t hugely shocking, but curious if it gets more folks out or not.

$70 daily tickets is quite the ask. I assume they’ll do some discounts at some point, but thats quite a price increase from prior years.

Looks like Marco Polo is going to be CLOSED for Christmas Town just like now during Howl-O-Scream, SMH! The culinary operations at BGW continue to be in full blown crisis mode. I know when I go to Christmas Town I will be eating outside of the park to avoid excessively long food lines (w/ such limited food options) and the dumb 5% surcharge! What a shame!

Not unexpected, but goodness, what a stagnant year for Christmas Town. New new shows—not even an O' Tannenbaum replacement. No "Tree Trail" replacement. Culinary is setup to be a nightmare. Don't see any mention of a Holiday version of Hideaway in the upcharges area either.

Oh, and returning Santa to Wilkommenhaus is going to be a HUGE guest experience downgrade too. Even if they can manage to fit multiple Santas in there, it means they won't have a large indoor queue area anymore. That will be a disaster. Not having the new event space ready to house Santa this year was a massive blunder on the park's part.

After two "COVID-y" CMT years, I really feel like we should be expecting a return to form for the event by this point... And this certainly isn't that. There's just nothing here to get excited about if you ask me. 🙁

In the upside, all day dining is back.

Arguably a downside since there are very few places to use it and it may increase lines.

The park has never returned fully from COVID so why expect it for CT? This is just new new reality for BGW.

I sorta agree, but even for Howl-O-Scream we saw some attempt to reinvest in the event's attractions. Yeah, they're still down a house, but we did get two and a half new ones this year. Christmas Town is gettin' nothin'. This would be like Food & Wine coming back in 2023 without a single new booth. I just don't get it.
