Park looks fine; nothing blew me away but it's about as good as we could have hoped for this year, I think. Pretty much just got photos of the fall colors and then dipped shortly after it got dark, but I'll be back to enjoy/photograph the rest of the event.

Your pictures are always amazing! Thanks!

My visit on Sunday was pretty good: under a 10-minute wait for Apollo’s, kids I was with had plenty to fill the afternoon even without Land of Dragons (would have been more deficient on that front on Saturday with the earlier opening), a short wait for the train at 6:45 or so, etc.

Was a bit disappointed that the drink stand in Ireland that sold me hot chocolate earlier in the night wasn’t operating on my way out at 7:30, and my friend’s kids WERE a bit disappointed that Bumble has been cut from Rudolph & Friends (not like meltdown disappointed, just noticed the difference from 2019), but overall for a $25 ticket preview day with the pre-sale the folks I was with felt they got their money’s worth.

I hate to beat a dead horse but the left side of the train has a few more decorations but still is largely bare compared to the right. That wouldn't bug me a ton except that staff tonight wouldn't let you save yourself a left side seat forcing everyone to move over. They wouldn't even let me wait on the platform because "that would mess up their count of available seats. One of my big goals for tonight was to take advantage of the lite crowd to get pictures from the train that is hard to do of you have to try to shoot around people and I don't want to waste my night waiting in line multiple times to hope and get a decent seat. I included two pictures to show the contrast from side to side.

Curious if that's an ops thing or something the individual staff member(s) made up? If it seemed like the former, maybe ask for a supervisor for clarification?

It may very well be an individual staff member as he came off as plain rude and kept responding with move on over or don't ride when I was trying to explain what I was doing and why. He also said there was no difference between the two sides when there CKEARLY is a major difference.

FFS, you're there to enjoy it - if it's slammed packed and you're really gumming up the works then I can see their point, but if it was light crowds and not super busy, your attempt to get a better seat is really not an issue so I dunno what they're thinking.

Clearly somebody cares way to much about what they do and thinks they are waaaaay more important than they were. I ran into someone like that today, who yelled at me for touching his machine. I was there to do work on that machine. Anyways, if the train was primarily used for transportation across the park, I would understand trying to fit more. But, since they are using it as a standalone ride (only on and off at one station), there is no reason to smash multiple parties on the same row, especially with COVID in the mix. No excuses for the rudeness regardless. I would have gotten their name and gone straight to GR (or asked someone else for a supervisor). Chances are, this isn't their first complaint.

Having both sides would make the train so much more rideable. Getting off feeling like you need to do it again to see everything. Arnt attractions made to be re rideable? Is there christmas music or anything while on the train? Is one of the workers talking through it telling you about the park and rides?

Realistically, the train ride is a ritual more than a ride, and especially for younger riders they probably aren’t that concerned about seeing everything. There’s Christmas music playing, they saw some lights, they are likely about to fall asleep on the walk back to the car.

There is a recorded loop of sing a long Christmas music that is supposed to match up with the displays around the loop but 50% ofvthe time it's out of sync and is either ahead or behind what you are passing.

They started smashing more than one party on a row the very first day they werent skipping rows.....I mean you kinda have to when you only run one train and spend 15 minutes at each station. Covid is only used now as a cost cutting excuse anyhow.

As far the CT Express or whatever they call it now, so they are not stopping at Scotland and Festa? Didnt they do that before and after a week or so changed back to stopping at every stop?

Since I haven't shamelessly plugged my Instagram recently. Great Christmas Town photos here
