It is a really awesome experience and I would totally advise you do it unless the line is out of control. It is a bit of a weird feeling at the top because since you're body is anticipating the drop, and it doesn't happen. But it's a fantastic view from the top looking down at the park's lights and it was one of the highlights of my night there.

Yeah, because there is a chance, under certain conditions, that will drop normaly.:)

Does anyone else think the "slow mode" is a little scarier than the normal drop? I was a little creeped out by it. :/

Yeah I totally agree. Makes the "don't look down" sensation twice as bad and as Hoopla said, the possibility of the drop is very scary when you're riding.

CT was very enjoyable this evening. Crowds not too bad and the weather was fairly nice. Got to do everything we set out to do. Riding the Battering Ram on the ends facing Holiday Hills or Polar Pathway is a good alternative to waiting for Nach Tower. Nice view of all the lights. One thing though...
Has BGW experienced a McD's-type incident with someone getting burned by hot chocolate or something? Opening weekend my hot chocolate was so hot I had to let it cool a bit before drinking; which is the way I like it. But tonight, as well as last weekend, it hasn't been very hot at all. I know it hasn't been freezing cold, but it is still excellent hot chocolate weather. Very sad about this. Lol!

I was also there this evening and got to do everything we wanted to do EXCEPT visit Grogan's Pub. It was closed for a special event every time we went by. Oh, and we went to the 7:00 showing of Gloria and the bottom middle section (except for the first four rows) was completely reserved. Every other time we've been the reserved seating has been on the lower sides...not sure if this is something new or it was reserved for the same party that confiscated my Grogan's.

We rode Verbolten for the first time during Christmas Town tonight and it also affords lovely views of the lights, but I do like Nacht Tower better--for the views that is. We rode it last week and had two loading parties ahead of us and it still took a half an hour. Part of the problem was the number of people who waited until they were seated and belted in to quiz the ride attendant in depth about the ride. They then decided to get off which seemed to require an entire reset and recheck of all the riders. And part of the problem seemed to be that the sensors were acting up maybe? They would check everyone and give the thumbs-up and the operator would indicate a problem and then everyone's seat would unlock and the whole process would start over. I hope that's an aberration.

If there was an incident with someone burning themselves from hot chocolate, we would have heard about it in the news by now. Plus the park is not responsible because all their cups they serve hot beverages have a hot liquid caution statement on them.

Jesy, reserved seating for the show is based upon how many people buy the Quick Queue for that time of the show and what tours have been scheduled for that day. You probably went on a day that a lot of people bought Quick Queue and the option they choose happened to have that showtime. As far as the pub goes, it could just be like someone's wedding reception or something similar.

For all those who completely missed it, if they decide to drop the ride at any moment, they will notify the riders before hand. It won't be a surprise drop out of no where. By the way, they replaced the hydraulics over the summer and that is causing most of the problems, they may drop the ride so the primary brakes will activate and stop the ride in time before crashing into the concrete rather than allowing the secondary brakes which will just slow you down a little bit but not so much.

OMG! PR what am I going to do with you?
Please detect the sarcasm in my posts. And assuming all of that is accurate, there is no excuse for my less-than-hot chocolate experiences X 5. Lol. ;)

Just throwing this out there, but Christmas Town crowds on Saturdays start out pretty manageable until around sundown, and then it becomes a madhouse until about 9. Then for some reason everyone clears the park out after 9, so if you plan on visiting, hit the major stuff early, spend the crowded time after sundown taking in the sights, and then spend the last hour or two seeing any shows you missed, Christmas tree lighting, Verbolten night rides, etc.

I had a good time Saturday, although I was only at the park from 5-8 due to some family issues, the park looked very nice. I can't wait to go back though so I can soak in the atmosphere better, it was a mad house. The only thing I did was ride verbolten, which surprisingly was only a 30 min wait. But from what I saw I give the lights a 10/10

I thought it was pretty busy for a Sunday.

They had some microphone problems in Gloria, but man that girl in the last song or two can sing. Miracles was eh. I really liked what they did with the new stage for Deck the Halls.

Holiday Hills was neat-o. Not really a lot to do there. Just made a quick round and got some pictures then headed on to the rest of the park.

I really enjoy the Glühwein. Unfortunately for most people they were out of the proper souvenir Glühwein mugs, so they were giving everyone Mach Tower mugs. I luckily brought mine from last year though and got my refill. :-D

We rode a lap around the trains and while they do play music you can sing along to, they don't really encourage people to sing and I think they should. Sounds like it worked out pretty well in Tampa.

Any idea why Bolt was down all day? I was looking forward to seeing it with the headlights on.
