I'd be VERY surprised if those "36k and 26k" numbers are the Parks capacity. More likely those are the attendance totals for the entire day. There's no way you're fitting 26k - 36k people physically inside the park at any given time.

The mid to high teens seems more realistic for actual "inside the park" at once numbers.

A couple suggestions for Busch CTown,

Where is preferred parking? My pass promises it!

The polar pathway looks nice but I don't understand the giant santa. Doesn't make me think of Santa. Maybe a giant polar bear.

In France, on the roof that says NOEL, fill in that whole roof top with lights, not just a square.

Open all the park at once. Not scattered. It was way to jammed.

I won't swear to it, but I'm 99% sure that we didn't get preferred parking the first two years of C-Town either.

it will actually be much less than that....there is talk that they will put max capacity at around 14-16k to avoid massive wait times and overcrowding.....26k for xmas town is no bueno... you wouldn't be able to move.

In some places, you couldn't move (Pompeii, Rhinefield)

I would guess that you could call the park and ask... But for now, I am trusting my friend
BTW, there is ~360 acres of park for that 36k (that's about 100 people per acre)

Every employee I've ever asked has given me the "around 35K" answer consistently. I can't imagine Christmas Town being more than half of that. Also, 35,000 doesn't really seem to be all that much to me in the big picture. I've been to plenty of football games with 2-3x's that many people.

but more that half of the park is open during christmastown... I would say about 2/3 the park is open, making the capacity be about 2/3 that, making 2/3 capacity 24k... Either way, bgw had way too many people there Friday... I think it's because of those $5 tickets... Too many sold

Math redone... 180 people per acre on 200 acre developed land

I wouldn't say 2/3 of the park is open either....yes festa is closed....but with all of the coasters with the exception of alpie being closed. Not to mention LOD, FOF, DK....xmas town will be just fine with the cap being at 14-16k.

I don't think you can fit 20 thousand people in festa and the coaster lines... because that's what you said

Forest of Fun, Land of the Dragons, Festa Italia, three major coasters, DarKastle, Roman Rapids, Escape from Pompeii, LeScoot, etc. I think Ivybrit's numbers are about correct.

The major roller coasters average 1500 people per hour. With ride lines of 1-2 hours on busy days would put the number of people in line for Apollo and Griffin at 3000-6000 people. So a cap at 20k would be reasonable with the omission of those rides and areas mentioned as long as the park is staffed to accommodate 20k.

maybe hour and half wait on the worst day in summertime for Griffon. I haven't seen 2 hours since griffon opened.

Alpengeist had an insane line on the first night. Even the QQ line was backed up. Also, in regard to capacity issues, keep in mind, Alpen won be open much longer once the temp starts to drop.

Since we're going into our second weekend I was curious what you guys estimate the crowds will be like. I only went on saturdays for the last 2 years. I'm assuming it is the busiest on saturdays, next busiest on friday, then least busy on sunday? Is that a fair assessment?

Going by the O Tennenbaum webcam, the park looks pretty empty right now!

It does now. It seemed really crowded around 6-6:30. Interesting.

Well if you were looking at the webcam around 6-6:30 then that is dinner time so I'm sure lots of people were congregated in that area to see the two shows and eat.

I checked the webcam periodically from 7-8:30 p.m. and the area was not crowded at all.

Does anyone know if I can use my CT hot chocolate mug from last year for refills this year? Or will I need to buy a new one?
