It is never to early to start thinking and discussing next years plans for Christmas Town! The event is so amazing! They listened last time to our requests and now the event is just about perfect!

Has anyone thought of any ideas what the new Oktoberfest will be color wise with the lights next year?

OMIGOD, My mind was just blown. This has got to break a world record for the fastest seasonal event turnover in history.

Atleast you're prompt.

Seeing as I haven't been to the event yet this year, I will make one suggestion: Elmo wants to party too. That is all.

I think they should turn the Europe in the Air simulator into The Polar Express Experience similar to Sea World Orlando. I know it is unlikely, but I can dream.

Elmo likes to party, so an all new Christmas party in FoF is likely and would have a new show starring the Sesame Street characters at Elmo's Castle. All water effects would be turned off. (Duh) Around the meet and greet, gift shop, and snack stand will be new heated areas. The little log flume can be closed and the coaster is open weather permitting. The area will be lit with bright, colorful lights and a Christmas Tree in the center of the water play area.

Those are the two main things I'd like to see, Elmo having a party, and The Polar Express arriving in Ireland. It is very likely to see more Elmo but is unlikely to see The Polar Express.:( That's all for CT For now. I have more rumors and ideas but I'll share them later. ;)

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! :D

:)I think Sesame Street should be open! I also think that they should come up with an original simulator(not Polar Express). I think Festa Italia could be open with Tradewinds, The Tea Cups and Elephant Run. I think the Arcade, The carnival games and La Cucina should be open as well! That way, the train could stop at all 3 stations!! I havent gone yet this year, but I heard it was amazing!

Just remember the more they open the more the ticket price will go up. They opened up Italy this year and the price went up. And with them not allowing season passes (yet) I enjoy having it opened at a low price. With that said I would like to see a pass for christmas town. Included with a regular pass or as a special pass like the summer sizzler. Would be nice to have more light display with the train ride not just the trees done up, like the drive thru in newport news.

Maybe Festa Italia could be themed to North Pole and the former NP site can host more traditional German Christmas offerings.

The Roman Rapids queue can be Santas Workshop, La Cucina can offer traditional Christmas fare and can be heated, the flats will be synced to Christmas music and lights, Elephant Run can be mildly rethemed to Reindeer run:p, Apollos Chariot can be renamed to go along with the theme (Santa Claus is coming to Town, Sleigh Ride, etc.), and the entire area will be revamped with a North Pole Christmas vibe including lights, music, and SNOW.

This plan would add something major to Festa and will bring the North Pole into a more isolated area rather than being smacked in between Oktoberfest and New France.

(BTW, it was just an idea I barely came up with so dont write the idea off as crazy)

I don't think your idea is crazy, it just has a few flaws:

-The North Pole is smack dab in the middle of the park because it is supposed to be the epicenter of the event. Technically you HAVE to walk through the area to get around the park, and if the NP was in Festa it wouldn't get as much crowd flow as it does now.
-Retheme of Apollo's - I don't think they would retheme it, based on the fact that the colors would have nothing to do with the updated theme.
-Retheme of Elephant Run - No lie, there are already snow-covered trees on the cars of the elephant run.

I totally understand where you're coming from though. It would breathe new life into the area for the Holiday Season. I just think the area it's in now is just too perfect to pass up.

I wish they would do something like disneys christmas where they light every inch of the buildings with Christmas lights! I think the north pole center peace looks horrible this year. It's like the water fountain with garland and icicles on it.. They need to bring back the big iceberg. Also I think they really need to decorate ALL the park including Pompeii area and the area near apollo. They can also re theme the game stands in Italy for Christmas.

Disney has a much bigger budget than Busch will ever have, just keep that in mind.

This. You'll never seen a Osbourne Family Spectacle of Lights here. It just isn't practical with the cost.

The way I keep looking at CT is like this: its a very expensive event to put on. We just can't expect for them to make massive expansions on it in such a small period of time. Once they stop expanding into new countries look for them to improve on areas around pompeii and other small things like that. It was the same for HOS when it started and look how huge it has become.

I agree about the expense of much more expansion. The other thing I though about last night is the amount of time available to see much. For those who can only go once a season, the trip becomes a bunch of choices as to what to see and what will have to be missed. That gets much harder when the amout of choices gets bigger and we don't have a full day to see the park.

I doubt full day operation is in Christmas Town's foreseeable future.

Not immediately but Busch seems to ME to be trying to take a major step in the year round entertainment year. Could CT be a covert operation to discover cold weather interest to possibly alter their typical season or am I just a wishful thinker?

I don't think so. Christmas Town is sucessful because of the Christmas season and theme. After that, there really isn't much of a holiday theme to go off of. Also, the cold weather severly limits what rides can operate in the park so there really isn't enough available to draw the crowds to make it profitable to open.

You're preaching to the choir here. Look at the rides and what limits each of their operation in certain temperatures, minus the liquid rides. The affecting variables are none so which that cannot be adapted, possibly with the exclusion of Nessie. Doesn't always have to be a holiday theme. What does making the season begin earlier or end later have anything to do with what you said? I am a bit lost

It doesn't really have to be a holiday theme, but in Jan and Feb you have to worry about the weather, specifically wet paths icing over and the safety risks are what I would be concerned with.

I honestly don't have any problem with the current operating schedule. I just don't see how Busch could possibly make enough money to justify being open longer than they are now.
