First, I am very thankful for the opportunity that BG has presented the community for something to PARTICIPATE with during the holiday season. There was a large void of "to-do's" around the holidays, minus the shopping, parade, or city tree lighting... there wasn't the big WOW to draw me out. Remember all, we call this Busch Gardens, but it really operates under the auspices of InBev who had planned to divest interests not related to brewing. Keeping BG but adding millions of $$$ in upgrades plus opening for December is a MAJOR departure for corporate takeovers.
I will have a 3-yr old in tow along with Grandma. One blinking light will be their wow-factor. What I would love to see, and would chase the opportunity... go with the country theme of Christmas. Give me a Santa (for photo's) of England/Ireland [Father Christmas]; Germany [Weihnachtsmann]; France/New France conundrum [Pere Noel] and Italy [Babbo Natale] with all the adornments of white robes, greens, reds, etc. I will have probably have 10 good years of Santa pix but it would be neat if they were not all red robe guys with a white beard. Although in its infancy for production and execution, I look forward to their winter season.

Thats because In-Bev already sold it. "Busch Entertainment" is now "SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment," a subsidiary of The Blackstone Group.

Ignorant question as this will be our first CT. Tickets... is it really only a one-day pass or three consecutive day pass? Really??? Can't go anytime you wish like on the normal Annual pass? Thanks ahead.

It is a one day. There might be a multi-day option this year but there has not been in the past IIRC. And yes it IS an extra cost and well justified. Your pass supplements the spring/summer/fall season expenses and not several million twinkly bulbs, more entertainment actors, specialty food being brought in, heating bills, etc.

They've had a 3 day pass the past two years. It's a good deal. But the catch is that you had to use it 3 consecutive calendar days. We were going to do it Christmas Eve, then the two days after (since they were closed Christmas Day), but were told that it would only be good for the days before and after. The closed day still counted against the pass. Go figure.

I don't know if there's really anything else to expect. The event seems very straight forward this year...

Well we still aren't sure of where the additional 3 million lights will be going (although I presume 1 million will be going to the new attraction). And we don't yet know the details of the new Gloria! Show. ;)

So Christmas Town Construction News,

On the ticket booths and areas at the front of the park are now showing their Red, Blue, Green, and warm white lights.

Also the trees in Italy are wrapped in Gold LED lights like last year.

Alpengist now was white incadesent bulbs on the station.

To be fair, Rejoice was full of traditional christian christmas music. I hope this means they're at least going to have a story for this show.

Although, I thought the true meaning of christmas was all those presents and lights!

Choirs needed to sing on Das Festhaus!

PM me if your group of 20 or more would like to sing one evening at the Festhaus in front of thousands of guests. I can get you the forms and registration.

Back to the 3 day pass. It is an excellent deal for passmembers. 1 day is $12.50, 3 days is $25 (buy two, get one free). But again, it has to be 3 consecutive "calendar" days.

I honestly think that Christmas Town is a one time per year deal. It doesn't make much sense to go see something over and over (especially 3 consecutive days). That's just my personal opinion though.

Also, I noticed a fairly large crane right in front of Pompeii today as I passed the park. Any ideas? I figured it was something large they were putting up for Christmas Town.

Might just be starting to remove dead line stuff.

To me nothing seemed big enough to merit a Crane around that area... unless I am forgetting something.
